I agree with this assessment, I thought he made a real positive impact today.

All strikers miss one on ones, they're not as easy as it looks, especially running full pelt with defenders chasing you down.

There was a big gap to Mignolets left and Gerard went for it but just didn't get the placement spot on. Not really an issue for me that.

Its his workrate and decision making after he does something good which is the issue. Of course he's young and only here to learn those things but i think Robertos got a hell of a job on his hands to mould him into what Barca want.

He has all the talent in his feet but not in his head.

He made a positive impact for sure but his work rate in our half was literally non-existent. He was playing as winger which meant part of his job was to defend and support Coleman which he just didn't do. It's not enough to just attack, he needs to be a team player and do the boring stuff as well.

...finishing was poor, but delighted with Martinez's aftermatch interview in which he praises Gerry's impact. Could easily have blamed him but obviously looking at games to come.

I thought he was shocking today myself. Like really bad. However he does have the ability to do something great that can turn a game on its head. He will learn.

He made the difference in my opinion. Had some great runs, pulled their players out of position and looked like he is maturing as a player. Should have scored the 1 on 1, but at least he didn't do a Joe Allen. Fair play to Martinez for putting him on instead of Ossie or Naismith

He'd be great next to lukaku Imo, looked great when he went through the middle today until the finish. Lukaku's hold up play and combination play is very low par tbh

We certainly looked better going forward when Mirallas and deulofeu wer pushed up.

...I suggest that he may be a regular starter before the end of the season. Have to be honest that I'm not sure in what position, but the manager is backing his youngsters and doesn't look afraid to give them a run. I'm increasingly liking RM.

Agree with this assessment, although my other criticism would be that he needs to be a bit more eager about helping out on defense, there were times when the ****e would have it halfway between midfield and our goal and he'd just be walking around, looking like he was only going to play defense if he absolutely had to.
