Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Three games he should start, no?

If he can score against Arsenal in a few minutes I see no reason why he shouldn't be able to make those three look as bad as Stoke.

I'd think so, although it's very different to come on the last 20- mins then doing the harder work in the first half+.

I think what you're doing is great, but you're just passing. Tiki-taka is not just passing in of itself. If our entire academy only trained players to pass the ball we wouldn't be known for having a specific footballing philosophy, since passing is part of even the most basic levels of the game. You can't claim to have Tiki-Taka if you don't have all your players at least form the triangles with their movements to make it possible.

Deulofeu does need to work on his passing, but I think that problem could be fixed with either squad. Staying another season would probably help it faster if you guys make it to Europe though.

In the final third obviously you need brains and intelligent movement off the ball. However there are times watching Barcelona that it's just boring, when they're passing it around for 10 minutes between the back four and the scummy Anchorman, sometimes its very needless. Best style of football is attacking, ball retention with hints of agression and battle. I.e Bayern Munich.

Regardless of whether you love ball kissing or hoofing. Hopefuly Deulofeu stays for another year, regular game time will only be a good thing and there are in my opinion, tougher defences in the PL than La Liga. He will develop more as an individiual at Everton. Whilst his development into Barcelona's first team playing style would obviously be better suited getting 15-20mins here and there at the Nou Camp.

Also the lad seriously needs to work on his finishing! Should have had more goals, Liverpool twice, Stoke spring to mind.

^ I think they still accumulate, but after 1st Jan the threshold moves to 10, so if someone has 4 up to Jan 1st, if they get another couple then they wouldn't be banned after 5, but would be banned if they reach 10.

I could google it, but can't be arsed.....

Even a a Barca fan, I tend to agree on the passing in the back part. It was at its worst point under Villanova last year, but we've almost eradicated that from our game almost entirely under Martino. Did you see what we did to Celtic? A team that usually gave us a hard time because of their combination of defending + our lack of forward play was dealt their worst ever loss because we took the game to them the entire time, and our usual Tiki-taka was still intact.

A lot of the time I overlook the fact that he's still just a teenager. Another year would definitely help him but he's imo already prepared to take a role as our 4th front man (Similar to what Pedro is doing). However well he develops, you'd better keep those fingers crossed that we don't sack our joke of a B team manager who should have been doing whatever it is RM is doing for Gerard, cuz you might just see a couple more of our prized prospects who aren't quite ready passing through.

And on the finishing... that's pure nerves. Put him in a situation where he views himself as the star and he'll beat the keeper 1 on 1 nine times out of ten. More starting time should cause that problem to solve itself.
