Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

They will not want him going Italy. They specifically wanted him to go England to improve his game and get used to the physical side and play against quality opposition.

Everton having a Catalan manager who plays football their way just sealed the deal.

IMO he'll be here again next season and I'll be more than happy if that is the case

Just imagine the lad next season after a year here getting more experience.

Barca love bobby hopefully we will see more young or out of favour Barca players at Goodison.

'Ard to replace: Everton hope Deulofeu will stay
Everton are confident they can fight off interest from Milan to keep Spaniard Gerard Deulofeu at Goodison Park next season.

The 19-year-old winger, on a season-long loan from Barcelona, has made a huge impression in the Premier League with his precocious talent.

He is unlikely to get regular first team football at Camp Nou in the immediate future and that has alerted clubs across Europe.

But Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes his club are still in the box seat to sign Deulofeu for a second campaign.

Martinez said: “If Gerard needs another year on loan, I think it is going to be with Everton. If not, he’ll be at Barcelona. I don’t think he’s going to go elsewhere on loan.

“When we sat down in the summer, we talked about Gerard being maybe two years away from the first team at Barcelona.

“We’ve been very happy with the way he is developing and, before his injury, he had reached such a level that everyone thought he might be ready for the Barcelona squad. But it all depends on Barcelona.”

No chance of him going to Italy and deffo not Milan, their systems about as far removed from the Barca style as you can get which is supposed to be a priority and a big reason they were keen to trust him to bobby

Gerri would need to not only get used to new teammates, league and language but also a new style of football so would probably have to sit on the bench or come on as a sub for the first part of the season. AC milan are less likely to get Champion's league or even Europa league than we are next season given they are currently in 10th place. Not even sure they would be willing pay a higher loan fee than us for his services.

As a gap year to goof off whilst pretending to learn about another culture and get a tan AC Milan sounds perfect - to polish a player that Barca wants use in their first team the following year I'm not sure what advantages Milan offers above us.

I would be shocked if he went somewhere else on loan. This is the perfect place for his development at the moment.

Well, 3 mins in a game and 3 starts in a season doesn't sound like perfect development to me. He could have done that at Barça this year.
If Deulofeu keeps playing this minutes, I really don't want him here next year as a Barça fan. Put him on a La Liga side and he starts 25 games.

I thought that he was going to start games at some points in the season, but seems like this is not going to happen.

he's only just come back from injury... and was starting just prior to his injury.

You realize the lad has been injured?
