Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Not talking about starting a game, I'm talking about this game. The game was over when Baines scored the pen, why he didn't get in then? There were 15 minutes left, instead he played 3 minutes. And to regain some fitness, he needs to play some minutes..Especially if a game is over. That threw me completely off.
Ok from this I understand your point. Probably did deserve more than a few minutes today, but it's not a worry IMO. Our defence was shaky all game and maybe Martinez wanted to see us settle before unleashing the erratic beast that is, Gerard. The Naismith injury caused a bit of confusion too

We'd made 2 subs and a few of the lads were getting battered & bruised. I think Gerard would have come on sooner if we had other subs available and it was sods law Naismith went down minutes after Deulofeu came on. We could have been down to 10 men for 25 mins if he'd come on sooner.

People under estimate Pienaar's importance, his little flicks and tricks and dribbles and the way he keeps possession are vital to the way we play. More so than Mirallas.
agreed, even though he's playing tosh, he's our best player of controlling and passing in tight situations.

Yeah. I realized that. I also realized that he played 3 freaking minutes in a cup tie. Where he is going to start games? I' m telling you, he's not. And he's not coming back if he's not starting games.

Sorry mate but I really don't think you've been paying much attention. It's going to be Barca or Everton next season and I think it's more than fair to say that it'll be Everton.

He'll be coming back.

He'd be going somewhere other than those two clubs?

I mean I guess it's possible but improbable.

I'd put the odds of him turning out for another side, other than the two I mentioned, at less than 20%.

No i mean i'm not sure he'll be coming back here.

He's not starting games for us and i don't think he will with Pienaar and Mirallas fit, so Barcelona might be wondering why they would send him on loan again to us for him to sit on the bench when he could be sitting on their bench but at least playing for them instead of us.

I'm fairly sure he will be starting more soon.

Yeah, you could be right. I think this is still the best place for him, especially if we nick 5th.

Well I don't see us getting 4th but 5th does get us Europa Cup competition meaning more matches. 4th too though.
Fair enough your opinion, but i still don't see why we can't nick 4th when there's still around 30 odd points to play for. Come on Bill we've got this!

edit: but europa would still be awesome, especially for the likes of Gerard and even Barkley etc getting more games in
