Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Needed to leave the ground early when he came on with my little cousin to avoid the queue. How many step overs did he do? Surprised the Barca fan hasn't came on and said something about him tbh.

Instead of who? We need Pienaar on the left mate for Baines' sake

Baines hasn't impressed me in the slightest lately in terms of going forward so I don't see why we should base that decision on him, although I get what you mean.

We just seem a bit lethargic lately and I'd like to see him start to inject some real pace into our game.

i'd agree about Baines. Though he did show a couple of flashes yesterday of being back to his best. Him and Pienaar linked up well a few times in the first half especially.

I think that's down to that fact that we don't chuck the ball high into the box anymore, so we're not seeing many assists from him.

Saying that, I though he was great yesterday, he put in some great crosses. It's obvious that Martinez is saying get the ball down, interlink with Pienaar, and the AMF, to draw the defenders out of position, then pick the right time to make a move towards goal.

It's like watching Arsenal. They constantly get the ball into decent areas, don't see the attacking pass, so they turn it around and try from the other side. This is what RM wants. He just wants to keep possession. He doesn't see the point in taking a chance by crossing the ball. I agree with him, at times. Anyway, we're going off topic here.

I wouldn't start with Gerry, he has a tendency to disappear in the second half, not what we want. He's certainly an impact player, and that's where we'll see him from the next few of weeks. I hope Barca allows him to stay for another season, but I think with rest, training, and a decent taste of the PL, he'll turn into a major player next season.

I was in The Meadows yesterday when the teams came up and thought well that is a decent start lineup. I was wishing he would have started yesterday. So when will his first game be, I wonder. Over to you Roberto.

Mirallas behind the striker, Deuloefu on the right.

Barkley is Barkley but he wasn't great today.
I agree with this.

Barkley came back from injury and just seems a little too off the pace. I'm not worried though, he's absolutely still on course to being a top top top player and we need patience with him. Bench though for Chelsea.

People need to calm down on Barkley. Always happens to people in England and they always flop. Not saying barkley will do that, need to be careful. He told his mate as well that he feels a lot of pressure on his shoulders when playing
