Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Haven't posted before in any of the threads but have been reading up on this rumour a lot as I live over here and go to a lot of Barca games and some Barca B games.

I like Delofeu but it's very early for him and you can't really make any set judgements. He has bags of ability and confidence, but sometimes is overconfident and wants to take on the whole defence when he should be laying it off. Normal I guess for a lot of young attacking players, and at the very least he would be an interesting option off the bench if he can settle ok.

There is still stories about Valencia, Betis and Sevilla being interested and I feel he is most likely to stay in Spain. I think Valencia wanted to take him in December but Barca were not interested. However he has since told Tito he wants to go elsewhere for this season. I can't post any links just yet.

I would absolutely love it if Martinez managed to build a good relationship with Barca. My catalan friends watch some Everton games now as it is, if we get Delofeu in they will be watching a lot more.

Nice one - but i fear loads of blues here hate Barca as the Kopites of Spain! - i dont like, i think they are good. Suso got a lot of mentions in that video, he plays for the Sh*te.

To be fair...so did I!

Fast forward to about 3 minutes then. His goal was world class. Perfect technique.

What I liked about that video is it showed almost all of his touches not just one or two good plays.

He's going to be a star. Would be nice if he started at Everton.

He's got some young player flaws (similar to Barkley, gets caught in possession, makes some poor decisions) but great touch, two-footed, switches wings, goes down the middle, pacy...there is a lot to work with and a lot of flexibility in his game. Certainly some similarities to Mirallas and that isn't a bad thing!

Stones/garbutt were interesting captures. Would be nice to see us go in for a foreign u21 player or younger...someone from a smaller team with lots of potential.

Not really sure what we're gonna get. Not sure if he's good enough for the prem, and he aint a long-term signing as he'll go right back to Barcelona after a season.

Balague is known for being very full of himself and fond of his little bit of fame. He spins a good story and really plays on the "I'm from there so I know things you don't" angle to make his unfounded rumours sound like they are coming straight from the horses mouth.
