Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Stones/garbutt were interesting captures. Would be nice to see us go in for a foreign u21 player or younger...someone from a smaller team with lots of potential.

I agree, which is why I hope the next person we sign is Fer.

How would signing a segunda B player be a dream loan move? All the potential in the world but nobody has any clue whether he can step up from segunda to EPL?

Just been on a Barça forum and they think it's a done deal to Everton. One of them was pretty pissed off about it actually

They really love the kid, all my students want an attack of: Neymar, Messi, Deulofeu.

Pricks.

Don't care how good he is, if there is not a deal in place for us to sign him on a permanent basis if WE want then he can stay there, leave the loaning of players we can't have to Bolton and Wigan, not Everton football club.

I thought that, and it really did bother me at first, but look at it this way: it's a sign of real quality, this reluctance. And if he makes a material contribution that will be reflected in profile, media, even prize money increases if it comes down to cup rounds and league places. Look at Courtois at Athletico Madrid, he has given them a superb platform to progress and they will do better for having him than not, regardless of permanentcy

This article suggests Real Betis are in prime position to land Gerard Delofeu on loan. This makes much more sense to me as it would be experience in the Spanish top-flight which is what Barca ultimately want for Deulofeu to prepare him for their first team.

Real Betis Favorites to Sign Deulofeu

As much as I would love to see him at Goodison, I would be very, very surprised if he came here on loan. I can't picture him coming to us or Spurs. It's just not going to happen. Sorry to burst your bubble lids.

... but look at the brightside: we'll get to see Deulofeu in action with Real Betis when they come to Goodison Park for the pre-season friendly on August 11th. :)

Then again, perhaps this is a downside.. we will all bear witness to the player we just missed out on for the coming season. :(

That website makes footyrelated look like the guardian.

I think it's between us and Betis.

Lets wait and see...

@barcastuff: Barcelona winger Deulofeu is close to making a decision on his future club. Tottenham and Everton main candidates to sign him on loan [rac1]

Looks a player, raw but a player non the less. More important if we can get a deal done for Moses IMO, he will come into the first 11 and make a difference to the first 11. This young lad, albeit a great option...will just be a option from the bench I imagine.

Still just can't see him coming here.
