Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

I knew there was some hidden meaning to his celebration lol

Looks up for a threesome there.

I've not got it in for him, I just don't rate him. Nothing weird there.

Plus you can't exactly directly attribute them points to him except the Cardiff and Arsenal ones considering we won by more than one goal. Newcastle away - the first one wasn't really an 'assist'. He did well, yes, but it was a 5 yard square ball to Barkley who ran 60 yards on his own. Stoke we won 4-0 so while he played well you can't say we won because of him. By your logic we would have won 2-0 without him, and beat Newcastle without him too.

I actually think he could be brilliant if he ran past players instead of waiting for them to tackle him, but he's a lot further away from a high standard than people are making out.

Entitled to your opinion mate. I wasn't sure if you where joking though.

Christ. In the Spanish senior squad and back at Barcelona.

Am I missing something here or is he not that good?

Many are missing something or at the very least seriously underrating him

There was talk even ahead of his loan to Everton for him to be called up to the senior NT squad simply because while La Roja are the current Euro & World Cup title holders they are lacking a consistent goalscoring threat...Deulofeu's excellent work in the B squad already caught Del Bosque's attention and the press were suggesting Gerard was on the cusp of a senior call up...It's worth mentioning that besides a Segunda star, he was one of the key goal threats for the U21, U19 and U17 squads...When many young scoring talents have had up & down trajectories (Like Paco, Morata & Rodrigo), Deulofeu has been a consistent threat at every level...RM's Jesé who is Deulofeu's attacking partner for La Roja was mentioned similarly and had he not got injured this season, there was a good chance he would've been called up as well

Doesn't surprise me that he's called up when you consider how disappointing Vila, Torres & Llorente have been...Even with a stellar 1st half to the season, Negredo will not be a guarantee either

Gerard is a longshot to make the squad for this WC but a great debut against Bolivia could change that obviously....The upshot, however, is that Spain knows his quality

Serious question, ignoring his buyout fee and whether hed sign for us or not or even if we had the cash--how much would barca accept for him?

On current ability no more than 10mil--potential 20mil.

I cant see him being a first choice there at all...

Mate? Deulofeu's scored 3 in 25 this season and 20 in 63 at youth levels, Villa's scored 13 in 30 this season and 56 in 94 for Spain at full level. Llorente has scored 15 in 33 and can hold the ball up with his back to goal ten times as well.

How can I put this in my politest terms? OK let me try: pipe down and do one you condescending queg.

He is no longer and Everton player so you can leave now and swerve patting us on the head.

While you're at it can you have a look at a map and choose a team local to you, or if you like a team that you don't follow based on success.

You're American mate. You look one bad texan trying to point to your Grandma being Spanish as to why you support them. You invested in them to try and feel superior to others.

But that real football fan feeling? You'll never know.

Bye now.

Serious question:

Bearing in mind of course they all play in different positions who do you think will become the most highly rated player;

A--Deulofeu?
B --Barkley?
C--Stones?

For me personally I think Stones, Barkley then Deulofeu.

For me, I have no doubt that Deulofeu is destined for stardom....Stones & Barkley both are excellent young talents as well with Ross having a bigger upside, IMHO...I think Barkley can become the premier English talent in the game after what I saw the first half of the season

Gerard has had a world class game for more than a decade so for me his success is not really something I can question - it's just a matter of how great he could become if he shows the right work ethic...Ross I'm only learning about now so I couldn't say Barkley's upside is greater than Deulofeu's however undeniable his quality is - we'll just see how he builds upon this past season...People were hyping Wilshere for a few years but he has never looked the same since before that injury where he had that one great season

what? how can you have a world class game at the age of 7?

i think it would have to be a very high fee for them to consider, why would they have to consider?

as far as what FCBarca says, he's far from a goalscorer, if he was called up because he scored 3 goals then i worry for spain
