Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

I certainly didn't feel I needed it to feel vindicated but Del Bosque's opinion of him reflects what I've already been saying...He's a special player

If you put "could be" instead of "is", you'd fine everyone here agreeing with you and your position wouldn't look so ludicrous.

The selection means nothing. Ask Dave Nugent, Rohan Ricketts, Francis Jeffers.

You're crowing about the talents of a lad who hasn't done anything of note yet. I appreciate you rate the kid, but when you're talking about how good he was aged 7 to prove he's a talent now, then you've automatically lost the discussion.

World class at the age of 7. Christ almighty.

I could show you 10 7 year old kids I coach who are brilliant now. Half of them will have stopped playing by the time they're 14 and I highly doubt one of them will even be semi pro standard.

Really is utter nonsense you're talking.

Nothing absurd about it...In every age group there are talents good enough for academies at professional clubs but among them are a select few standouts...They are heralded as the world class talents of their generation...Deulofeu is just one of them for the '94 kids...Barkley, for example, has known Deulofeu from International tourneys for years I wager...The recent FIFA sanctions at the club were centered largely around one particular world class talent that was 14 and was head & shoulders above kids his age - those are the world class talents for their age group that clubs around the planet are searching for...And Gerard has been hyped for just about a decade now because he was that sort of talent at each youth level

His buyout is €35 million but it's a moot point as neither the club nor player would consider leaving - simple as

Even Martinez echoes these sentiments that he is a certainty to become a world class player

I wouldn't say it's a certainty he'll be a world class player, but he has every chance and I'll be surprised if he doesn't. On the "talent at young age" theme. There are lots of kids who look truly exceptional at a particular age who don't fulfil that promise.

FCB is gently trolling everyone into oblivion.

Popcorning rather than trolling. There's an element of truth in everything @FCBarça says. If posters on here aren't intelligent enough to work out they're being popcorned then that's part of the game

I wish you would all stop being bellends to newcomers. @FCBarça has his own opinion.

Correct, up to a point.

Shut up ijjy ( see note on popcorning above also )

He's allowed an opinion. Just not on here.

Wrong, he's allowed an opinion on here. Just because he winds people up doesn't mean he's not entitled to have a say.

Now, @FCBarça might be more than a tad arrogant and opinionated but, is that really such a surprise on an internet forum ? In case of any confusion, the correct answer's No.

I hope you stick around mate and give us a game by game analysis for the next 3 years on his progress. It could be up there with an Altidore thread that's been going on for ages. Just keep tour posts short and to the point and that will do me nicely :)

lol at "his buyout clause is ~£30m" - there's PLENTY of players out there with ridiculous buyout clauses who end up going to other teams for a lot less in Spain.

Doesn't every Spanish contract have to have a buyout clause? Might be completely wrong here but I believe so. They just put in a very high figure, like Messi's would be £800m

I dunno about every, but pretty much all of them have random £30-50m for no reason at all. It's just a clause to see if any team out there will pay amazingly over the top for someone who may or may not be worth the money. That doesn't mean that he'll ONLY go for that - he can be sold for £1m in a year's time - no one knows!

The Deul lad was electric to watch - one of those players that every time he got the ball you felt something was going to happen. Sadly he was inconsistent and the injury knocked teh confidence out of him when he was just getting ace. Still good luck to him at Barca with Spain or whoever else.

He has a buyout clause I think of £200m...as there was an article in March that Man City are willing to meet his buy-out clause of £200m and that he apparently arent happy at Barca etc.
