Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Implying that any team or city will dominate at the top of the game for years to come is silly. It was only a year ago that the Germans were going to dominate at the top level.
That drove me up the wall last year... Everyone going nuts about the bleeding Bundesliga, like they were the first league to ever have two sides in the CL final, when in fact they were the LAST of the major footballing nations to manage it!

Can easily see Man City winning the Champions League next year. Think it's premature to say Spanish football is the hub of anything after one season, especially given the decline it looked to be in just 12 months ago. Things change rapidly. You'll see Chelsea and Man City spend massively this summer, so much so that you could see an all English final in 12 months.

hardly 1 season is it? Spain have dominated club and international footy for ages.

Neither Chelsea or City will be spending huge, in fact Barca and Real will spend more than them. City aren't in the same league as Barca and Madrid, as has been proved.

Looking through most leagues history you'd see that almost all sides who've won a lot of trophies(Everton excepted) have had cyclical periods of success. Implying, or stating, that's silly, is silly.

The evidence is clear as day. Everything in football is cyclical. Barca have been in a period of dominance that started a while back. They won't just fall back to obscurity but they won't win as often as they have.

I'm not saying the Madrid sides will carve up the CL every year between them. That doesn't happen. But I'd be very surprised if Madrid didn't outperform Barcelona over the next few years. There's big potential for implosion at Barca.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't city have a limit on their spending this year?

Of the 3, season long loanees, he is the one i`m least bothered about sending back, yes the lad has potential, but sometimes i felt he was stopping McGeady getting more playing time. Its OK getting loan players in as long as it doesn`t stop the development of our contracted players.

Buzzing off the American beaut gloryhunting Barca then investing so much in Deulofeu personally.

Lots of word responses but they only serve to highlight his lack of basic perception of the game. He's nothing more than a fanboy with a cable package trying to invent himself as a jarg Balague, the throbbing dull whopper.

I'm made up Everton manage to swerve tag along mongs like him.

He really didn't impress me on the whole this year. Couple of good displays, mostly frustrating. I liked the guy himself though and wanted him to stay another year as I thought he'd be a lot better next season.

However, not even ar**d. We'll replace easily, our game won't miss him next year.

Isn't Balague the jarg Balague!

Just a reminder to everyone that this thread is about Gerard Deulofeu and his time at Everton, which is now over.

If people want to discuss Barcelona, Spain, what Gerard does next or whatever then there's a forum called World Football which is there for that purpose. That includes talking about how boss he was when he was seven.

I'm tagging in the ( recent ) main protagonists so you can't say you weren't told. If you're not tagged in, then it still applies to you. If you havn't read this because it scrolls off, it still applies to you.

In no particular order ...

Basically this thread, and some of the people posting in it, are becoming "high maintenance" and will be treated as such. Anyone, and I mean anyone, who I think is deliberately taking the thread off-topic will either be infracted or ( now that I know how to do it ) thread banned.

If anyone's got a problem with that, then PM me.
If anyone's got a problem with that and responds on this thread, that'll be taken as being off-topic.

It's a gorgeous day in Woolshire. If it's the same where you are, don't waste it by arguing on t'internet.

Can this thread be moved to World Football?

No hard and fast rules on that mate, but Gerry was an Everton player so I reckon this should stay here to cover his time at the club.
Barring being re-loaned, talk about his future career belongs in World Footie.

Fair enough mate - I'm guessing all of this discussion would have died down soon anyway

Deulofeu had a few great games for us in his time, as well as contributing with some cracking goals. Good luck to him whatever happens.

The thread's still open to talk about his time at Everton mate, but it's been seriously derailed, and people are posting to "look clever" rather than discuss the subject matter. You're right though, this thread would normally naturally die a death as he moves on, but, in the meantime, people should be able to discuss his time at Everton without some posters deliberately trying to turn it into something much wider.

If anyone wants to start a "Deulofeu watch" thread for his time in Spain / Barcelona that's fine.
