Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

I would take him on loan but he is still very raw.
He has great potential and did some special things when here at times but he also made a lot of mistakes.

He actually played really well at the start of this season just gone. Was often brought off the bench for the last 35/30 minutes of games and tore defences apart. His form stuttered a bit just before Christmas though and he probably had the wrong attitude. Emery is basically a Moyes-esque coach (albeit a very good one) - demands that all his players work extremely hard on and off the ball. Del probably was too big for his boots and so didn't get in the team, and when he did his confidence was low and his form was poor. I genuinely believe that Martinez got the best out of him. That's not to say I don't want him to work hard, but it's not his game to track back and defend, he's the player you want up top to break teams on the counter.
Kev is also that type of player, but he cuts inside a lot more leaving Coleman/Baines exposed, whereas Del usually stays out wide to receive the ball, meaning that the opposition full back always has to stay back as well because they'd never have the pace to catch him. I think if we managed to sign Lennon and Del (presuming Mirallas leaves - i'd love us to keep him as well mind!), then we've got 2 very good out-and-out wingers - Lennon will do the hard work down the right for the first hour, and then bring Del in for that bit of magic. Combine that with a No.10 who can play on the opposite flank and cut inside (ala Pienaar in his prime), and we'd have a really strong forward line with Barks in behind Rom.

Yeah I agree with a lot of that.
I think he could be a great player but its a big gamble at the moment that's why I would like to loan him again and not buy.

Yep I'd prefer a loan if it meant we could keep hold of Kev. But, at £7/8mil, it would be worth the risk IMO.

He scored all his goals and got his assists in literally about 4 games at the start of the season. However I would play him as a No10.

I don't think it's either/or.

I think Kev is going because Kev wants to go. In fact even if we get Deulofeu and Kev leaves I think we will sign another winger and a No10. I hope Martinez has learnt his mistake from last year's window and doesn't leave us short in those positions again. Barkley is just not a No10.

Depends if Pedro goes for the transfer ban reasoning
This is the thing. Why would Barca let Pedro go and not Deulofeu. They wouldn't trust Deulofeu if one of their big 3 gets injured. Surely for them it makes more sense to sell Pedro in January.

What position is he then?

Personally I would be very excited if he would come back.
But...
..his attitude raises questions. I like to think that in Sevilla he was in wrong environment...they put cocky barca kid in row without hesitation.

Barca made a mistake there.

If he comes here I would want to know what went wrong in Sevilla in his own opinion.

I'll be pretty gutted if Barkley is first choice to start behind Rom next season to be honest.
