Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Agree, but they are just covering their behinds in the event he turns out to be a fantastic player. And if he does either they will want him back to sell him at a profit or there will be a clause built in that we have to cough up more cash after a certain period of time.
So you are worrying about a specific situation where Deulofeu is a good enough player within 2years for Barca trigger the buyback clause (and agree personal terms with him) and then agree a sale (and further personal terms) to another club?

have Barca ever done that before? They rarely seem to trigger buybacks to get the player back to their own team let alone to do that type of player trading.

Worried ? Nah. Just trying to explain to all the fretters what was likely to be holding up this deal being finalised.

Do you know who thought they had a signing in the bag???

West Brom and Lakaku a few years back when we stormed in last minute to take him on loan.

Never let a potential deal sit on the table, close it off.
oooh thought you were gonna say Larry Wiseman (Terence Stamp) in the film Wall Street, tries to buy Annacott Steel but gets gazumped by the dastardly Gordon Gecko (Michael Douglas).

Exactly, Larry could be Everton while Gordon Gecko could be Spurs.

Charlie Sheen can be stoke, a drug riddled man like the inhabitants of Stoke.

What I like about the proposed deal is that Barcelona is Gerards boyhood club, he is desperate to be a success there.
The buy back clause at least gives him a glimmer of hope that it may yet still happen.
He knows however that the only way that that is ever going to happen now is if he knuckles down, plays like a world beater and rips the prem apart during his time at Everton ;-)

Oh my gooooood we're gonna sell him back to Barca in 2 years, the absolute Judas. Fckn hell we made him and he treats us like this, what a sh!thouse.

We haven't signed him yet though, but I'm pure raging about a hypothetical situation that might arise if the other hypothetical situation comes off.

Arrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh Can't cope.
