I've watched Barca's last 3 games and the good news is Gerri's nowhere near a sniff of a 1st team spot ....... Stones is another matter. As well as their skill, they all work so hard including our favourite vampire. Gerri's superb with ball at his feet but still a lot to learn. On Saturday he was inside our box when Smith received the ball and should have moved towards him, instead he somehow ended up running behind him allowing him to shoot and score. Bizarre. Maybe it was tiredness , don't blame him for the goal in anyway, don't expect him to be a defender but moving towards someone with the ball and putting yourself between him and the goal is fundamental.

I must admit, Del is the fastest developing player i have ever seen at the club, so much ability but from what he was like at the start of the season or even last season compared to now, the progress is incredible! I remember 2 years ago the lad was hugely fustrating, selfish and had nothing in his head to make decisions quickly and often ran himself into trouble.
flash forward to this season and it seems each week he can just put the ball in the exact place for the striker to score, and if not cause enough trouble to allow others to get a shot in on goal (eg barkley). I think the level he is at currently is bordering on being a great player as consistency is creeping into his game.
not only that you can see more and more this year now he has realised he is first choice, just how much he is enjoying himself out there. He can relax and just play his game without worrying about being benched for 2 months afterwards.

Just thinking about his performance on Sat and there were also at least two of those curved balls in behind the centrebacks that were about to fall in front of Rom and put him through, only for a stretched leg and good defending. Shouldn´t take away from the fact they were fantastic passes.

Does anyone else think his work rate has significantly increased? I certainly do. I was glad he signed but I honestly did not think he would be as good as he has so quickly.
..interesting point about Stones. Pure conjecture, but reports suggest he is taking Spanish lessons. If he does go it has to be for mega bucks and if it is to Barcelona then we might have some leverage to remove Deleufeu's release clause. Lot of 'ifs' there but you never know what will transpire.

All pure speculation at this point anyway, but do Barca actually have the money right now to be competing with the likes of City, Chelsea, Man utd and even Arsenal for any new players, thought I'd seen something about them being in a financial absolute mess?
I said at the time we signed Geri. Stones was discussed as part of that deal.
