It needs someone that can thread a pass through the eye of the needle without requiring a huge windup telegraphing their intent. That's what Deulofeu would offer. As for pace - pace is useful in every position even GK. No10s play in the position between the defenders and the midfielders so the defenders wouldn't be able to get close to him and if they did Lukaku would be left one on one or they would have to play a high line so instead of playing into Del we would just hit Rom in behind and with Barkley deeper playing the pass I fancy the outcome. It's just an idea. I'm not even sure it would work but I would like to see it tried.

Mirallas is more the kind of winger you are talking about and isn't suitable for the No10 but Deulofeu has more about him.

That youtube vid was awesome. One thing that stood out for me was his willingness to get a quality ball in to the box looking for a player. Previously he would beat the man and shoot. It looks like he's grown up a bit and understands what a good delivery can do to the opposition.

There was another time when he didn't quite beat his man to the byline and stopped checked and passed back to Rom who laid it off to Ross who then took the shot. In the past he would have drilled a low cross in which would have got cut out. Just like Ross his decision making is improving.

Have to agree with @Adversus here.

I don't think it would be obscene to experiment with Del behind Rom. Espiecially if we sign Lennon and look to play Ross deeper next to McCarthy.
