Gerard Deulofeu

No,I think it was Roberto resting him for too long a time to justify his purchase of Lennon personally. Ruined Deulofeu's season.

I'm a big Deulofeu fan, and not exactly a Martinez one - but on this issue, I'm afraid I can't blame Martinez.

Lennon hit a legitimate purple patch of form at the exact time Deulofeu had gone off the boil. He deserved his run in the team.

It probably dragged on two weeks longer than it should have, but at the time it was the right call. Geri still blows hot and cold.

Agreed. But going forward Deulofeu should be in the first 11. It's up to Koeman to get the best out of him but he's easily out most creative player.

True, but look at how many assists Del gets, even when he's blowing hot and cold then look at how many Lennon gets when he's playing well.

If Del ever becomes consistent he is going to demolish teams. That's why I think Roberto should have dropped him for a handful of games then brought him back in. Players like Del need to play as much as they can when they're young so they develop their game and learn when to do the fancy stuff etc and when to keep it simple.

Having said that he needs a really skilled coaching team to help him develop. Wether he had that under Martinez I dunno but it's doubtful. I really think Del has the natural ability to become a top drawer player but it's critical he's managed and coached well in the next couple of years.

May I also respectively suggest that he needs to be able to play 90 minutes at full chat when needed.

He's boss, like you said definitely needs the right coach. Hopefully Koeman, being a Barca legend, will have an impact on Del.

Thing is lennon did the same as Kone and the like where they have a good game and then loads of poor ones. Genuinely, did lennon stand out as a top player after February? I know he did last year but this year did he really help them team against arsenal, United, Palace, Watford etc? It was Almost like a weird twilight zone where we all Thkught he deserved the place without acrually being a good player so to speak.

I like lennon, everything I expect him to be for us. Just think thst he didn't stand out as much as we all thought at the time, especially when we had kev and del permanently benched whilst he was in the team.

Our best winger who Roberto treated badly. A must starter who can create from nothing and who actually has vision.

Mate he was blowing like a 50 a day smoker after 5 minutes every game.

Now clearly thats down to the manager and coaching staff, but he wasnt able to be useful for longer than 20 minutes a game.

If he wants to kick on hes gonna have to start putting in the work.

Not only the staff's fault, if he spent a bit less time in Leo's casino and a bit more in the gym he might realise his potential.

Looks a classic case of too much money too little work ethic to me, but I'm no expert like yourself sir.
