Yeh I know that in a 4-3-3 I just mean he didn't score 18 goals playing as a lone striker the way he played vs Barnsley.

I think Koeman is just testing adaptability out on players so when the season comes we havent had to buy x number of players to cover positions that we have people able to already at the team mate (for example he likes to have a big man and a smaller nippy player as options - now he's seen that maybe Deulofeu can give us that) - seen also that Davies may be able to stop us havign to buy a rb to cover coleman at a push in a game shoudl he come poff etc
Don't get me wrong I'm not opposed to it I was just adding clarity as I've seen a few in the tread thinking he played as a striker previously in that prolific season. I've always thought he could do well as a 10, striker and a winger because of his through balls, pace and finishing. Maybe he's looking at a way of having him, Kev and another winger (Arnautovic?) in the side at the same time.

We bought him for €6 million and I believe Barca has a buyback clause of €9 million this summer and €12 million next summer.
There may be some clauses whereby Barcelona can't buy him back and then immediately resell him to another club. Deulofeu may also have some say on if he goes back.

Barcelona will definitely buy him back next summer. From my readings, the clauses are that they can buy him back next summer for 12 mill, but they cant turn around and sell him, he has to be in their first team for a year. They then may be able to sell him the next season, but we get a portion of that fee. I think hes going to have an incredible year this year.

Why ? He's not getting anywhere near that first 11 unless he has some godlike season next year and manages to outperform messi, suarez and neymar. He wouldn't even be close to being first choice backup either based on his career so far.

Because, while we know he has to be in their first team, we dont know whether it means he actually has to start. It could be they just need to pull him back as a squad player for a year, which they may decide is well worth it for the 25 mill fee they can sell him for the next season.
