Gerard Deulofeu

Looks promising this season, who doesn't love pace?

And I'm not at all worried about Barca buying him back. Worst case you'd think we had an option to match any bids, and unlike before, we can now afford to buy him back.

If we want him, we can keep him no matter.
there's a few permutations floating about on this issue.
I have a strong suspicion Barca see him as 'one of their sons'. Barring an abject season, I reckon their prodigal son will be called home.

Interesting to see Koeman say Deulofeu is the best option upfront other than Lukaku.

I think we might end up being a bit lightweight with just him on his own up top.

Definitely looks like they're gone, can see Kone going to China.

We really could do with signing another striker though, if Lukaku gets injured we're in a bad way.
I'll resent the useless div even more if he bags a massive move to China; he deserves absolutely nothing more than a League One club on around 3k a week max. I genuinely think I could earn 30k a week in China. What a dark spot on our history he is (no racism intended). Niasse too.

To be fair Kone isn't as bad as Niasse, but I'd agree with Koeman that I'd rather see Del there. But Kone at least looks like a footballer in most areas of the pitch, his fatal flaw as a 'striker' is that he goes to pieces when in the opposition's box...

Deulofeu however has that Barca swagger and slots as easily as he probably does in his romantic life.

You are joking right?

Kone had around a two-game purple patch last season where he did indeed look like a footballer, topped off by his wonderful hat trick against Villa (was it them?).

The problem is, for the other 99% of the time we've seen him, he hasn't looked like a footballer and yet is being paid handsomely to contribute the square root of nothing to the football club. He needs booting out or giving away asap. A complete waste of space, as well as his African accomplice Niasse.

Kone can control a ball, shield a ball, play 1 2s. I.e. He is an actual footballer. A good one? No. And as a striker he's horrific as he is so poor in front of goal.

However Niasse doesn't even look like a footballer. He struggles to control and pass the ball. He has movement indistinguishable from a Sunday league player. It's like he's just seen a football for the first time.

Would definitely happily have Sean from Corrie up front instead of Niasse. Not even lying.

This. There is no comparison between Kone and Niasse. Kone can be serviceable. Not unlike Naisy was serviceable.

Niasse is an abomination to football

Possibly the closest player to Ronaldo at the same age ?

koeman playing him upfront could be to see how he does there but also to have the experience so when hes at RW he knows where to put the ball and also he gets experience and game time of being in goalscoring positions?

I was thinking the same thing last night, watching him on the pitch reminds me so much of watching Ronaldo, the confidence with the ball and the passion he shows when he doesn't get the ball.

I just watched his interview and I cannot wait to see him get a run in the side this season, I think he could turn out to be something very special, I also love the way he loves being at Everton, he actually seems to get it.... just like we do!
