Delighted to see Wayne staying in the game. He could have retired with his millions and spent the rest of his days soaking up the sun in luxurious villas around the world. Whether he makes it in big time management, only time will tell.

I’m not saying he won’t because he’s done well under incredibly difficult circumstances but I think we need to wait and see.

Also he’s a blue so even if Man U want him we’ll have some sway over the rest.

Wayne Rooney isn’t remotely ready for the Everton job. He’s not come close to proving himself to be of a level to push us forwards. I have reservations about how united the fanbase would be under him, and whether he has the tactical nouse to navigate the rest of what will be a difficult season.

That said, I’d take him tomorrow.
