Get Rooney before United

Not saying for one minute get him in, but you cant deny the job he's doing there. Massive points deduction, club in a mess, no owner, no money, transfer ban, players not getting paid.

Yet he seems to have got them pulling together, working hard and all fighting for each other. He's doing an amazing job considering its his first role, many would have wilted or done a runner
Not the kind of job established "top" managers like Ancelotti could have done, that's for sure.

That Ponchettino will be there spell it right for me @COYBL25 lol

Rooney is going to be a hell of a Manager, we need to strike early and get him before United, I bet he will be united Manager in the Summer if we don’t act now!

So let’s get this right, we have all been criticising the club for months that it’s a job for the boys mentality and we need to disregard sentiment and go for the best person for any job regardless of where they are, who they are etc.

And in the next breath, Rooney is being talked up? Is that you Bill?

If he goes to United and does well then at somepoint he'll come here, so don't see an issue with them getting him first if he does turn out to be decent. Gone are the days a manager does 10+ years so it's not like we'll miss the boat.

I actually agree with everything here with the caveat that he needs to prove himself far more than for a season with what is a basket case situation for Derby.

What amounts to 13th place with a set up like hehasto work with is testament to him and the players. At the rate of point accumulation he will probably have them safe and would be far and away make him the manager of the season in England.
Is this April the 1st?

Not yet. It would take a couple of decent seasons before I'd even look at him but he is undeniably performing well there. It's like rocking up to a formula 1 race in an old road car, having a 20 second penalty and not getting lapped.

Ironically doing well at Derby shows he can get results in the most dysfunctional of set ups probably makes him a good candidate for 90% of professional football clubs.
