Ghost and Paranormal Activities

I suggest people watch Nukes top 5 and twin paranormal on YouTube for this kind of thing, I remember me and my cousin hiding in a cupboard under the stairs when we were kids, and a man with a flat cap looked over the cupboard door at us then walked away, we both seen him and didn't know him, our auntie and uncle told us of a man who they've seen before a couple of times walk through the house in the kitchen and that it was probably him, wasn't really scared at the time, it was just strange to think it could have been a ghost

My brother in law lived in an old house in Scotland when he was younger. He said him and his brothers were so used to paranormal activities they didn't bat an eye lid. Lights and taps turning off and on and toilets flushing on their own throughout the night etc.

Only experience I've had is being woken up by the sound of a carrier bag being violently shaken in my bed room, like really loud with no valid reason.

I have also thought about that theory, that ghosts my be energies or entities from alternative universes. I’m a not a physics but I do enjoy learning about such theories as the string and multiple universes. I also believe that there are many dimensions out there that our human brain doesn’t have the full capacity to comprehend or assimilate. And while several members of my family have encounter "ghost" before, what’s happening at my mum’s house has been the most prevalent and intense experience that my family has ever encounter with such entities.

It’s a strange one Sassy, I love science, physics and to me it seems the best fit of a theory as to what I could be. But that’s based on how I view the world so I’d never tell somebody with a religious up bringing who believed in ghosts they’re wrong as I don’t know. It’s just what I think. I’ve had a few strange experiences that some people would think of as ghosts but to me for example why would my nan (when I’ve been staying in her house after she passed) turn taps on or get things out of my wardrobe and leave them in the living room. It’s easier to explain for me that in an alternate time/universe etc she was washing her hands and that manifested into the time/universe I live.

we know the fabric of the universe is space time, we’ve not got any proof of supernatural activities so it just seems the more obvious fit of an explanation

I agree, Robert It is very strange indeed. I myself find myself confused about the right terminology to use when referring towards it and how to understand. I grew up as a Catholic so there is a part of myself that wants to make sense of it through religious eyes but then I'm also a very scientific driven and I try to comprehended such experiences with science in mind. Whatever it is though it is not from this world.

I do find it strange that a massive proportion of ghost sightings occur as people are waking up. I read a statistic that around 40% of us experience it at some point in our life. Which could account for a large proportion of ghost sighting. As for the instances where people are plagued for years, I’m fresh out of ideas sorry Sassy :D

A ton of times I have woken up in the dark and looked over thinking I have seen a figure, for it only to be a coat hanging up or stuff bundled over a chair and I am sure it has happened to the vast majority in here, if not all.

This for me shows that when waking up we can see things that are not there. Even when not waking up, on another thread there was that negative picture of a woman with 3 dots on her nose, when you stared at it and looked at the wall the picture of that (or maybe another) woman was clear as day. This is what I see when people talk about apparitions, they are basically tricks of the light, tricks of the mind, etc.

I agree with that Wandyr but there are instances I can’t explain. When I was younger I worked in a bar. I went to go and get a box of Bud Ice for the fridge from the cellar and as I was about to come up somebody shouted down to me to change a keg. I don’t know if you’ve ever worked in a bar but kegs have a lip around them, I’d put the case of beer in the middle of a keg turned around to replace a different barrel and heard a loud crash behind me. I turned around and the crate of beer I’d left in the middle of the barrel had been flung 3 maybe 4 feet against a wall and had smashed into pieces.

I don’t know if it was a ghost but something moved that case of beer and with enough force to make it crash against a wall 4 feet away

When I was a young soldier on of our guys was sadly killed in a car crash … he was 17
We lived in barrack rooms of 4 people
Several of us were playing cards in the room when a bed literally started to move across the floor and reposition itself diagonally out from the corner of our room rather than at right angles to the wall … and we remembered that this was exactly how he had positioned his bed …
Also one morning I saw the lad who used that bed get up and leave the room in his civvy clothes at about 6 am
But when I looked again the bed still had someone sleeping in it and again the lad that died had left our room in his civvies at 6 am the day he died
All these things I saw with my own eyes I’ll never be dissuaded from something happening in that room

No wonder. Bud Ice is watered down cow piss

Strange and I don't have an explanation for physical things happening like that, I mean things falling off walls, doors closing, etc. can easily be explained but I suppose I would have to be there to witness it, not that I am saying you are lying :D.

I did actually work in a bar, Walkabout in town. This was before it became a beacon for knobheads and was a more fun loving student hangout. I only changed a keg once but know what you are talking about, but that is by the by. Anyway, apparently Walkabout was haunted, only the assistant manager and my mate thought so, my mate 'feeling' the presence in the cellar and the assistant manager who saw the apparition.

Neither do I, I’m not saying it was a ghost. It could have been I didn’t put the case on the keg properly or one of a thousand reasons it happened.

I think the fact we think of ghosts as dead people it sort of works into the idea of the afterlife. The first structured religions all came around with the advent of agriculture. The first gods were Sun Deities which were worshiped in hope of a good crop. Then as we developed and began to question our place in the universe we worked in thoughts of an afterlife. Whatever it is that caused it to happen I can’t explain, I believe one day we will be able to but I think by the time that happens all of us will be long long gone

edit. That’s not strictly true actually, thoughts of afterlife have been observed pre religion in burials with artifices amongst early humans and Neanderthals. But the evidence of structured religion did only come about with the advent of agriculture

People who are nonchalant about ghosts and the paranormal are a mystery to me. They had to call Casper "Casper The Friendly Ghost" instead of just Casper. That indicates they know something we don't. You might think it's just some nocturnal wall traveller but it's definitely plotting, otherwise what's the point? If you were a ghost for one night only are you seriously telling me you wouldn't use your almost invisible powers to sneek a peek at one of your top 10's knicker draw? You wouldn't go out and get a cat out of a tree would you? No you wouldn't. You'd use it to your advantage be it a sexual thing, petty theft or just generally being nosey which is a hideous crime in itself. Next time you think to yourself "Ghosts? Meh" just remember, only Casper is friendly and he's not even real.

At least the Ghost had taste.

(Bud ice just doesn't satisfy anyone)
