It just soured the night a bit IMO.
There was a feeling he was being exploited by people looking to him to make a statement on their behalf. A trap he fell into.
The whole war thing had been a non-issue in that festival. Yes, people politely heard out the speech from Zelinsky that was for some reason included, but those kids who are at Glastonbury are not open to the cold war stuff - they just want to listen to some great music and dance and have a laugh after 2 years of Covid restrictions. There's been no appetite to propagate any position on any war, and I defy anyone to contradict that.
It was a spectacle last night but it should never have been detracted from by that flag waving nonsense - which was not in synch with the overall mood of the festival.
Didn’t think there would be that many delicate kopite adoring fanboys on here but hey, this place keeps on surprising.

I think watching two singers who used to be in big bands and still play their songs, in one day, got a bit too much for them
It was an hour too long edition of Fad’s Army and it just says too much on the type of posters we have on this site in their adoration/cult behaviour over it really.
Objectivity is dead on GOT, we’re now essentially Blue And White Kop on here.
To be fair to Paul, he improved as the set went on when he decided to play the less-niche songs; you've got to commend an eighty-year old going that long too.
But, to my honest surprise, I've seen a few people call it the best set they've seen in the history of Glastonbury, ever. For me, the start let it down. Anyway...
...I bet they post on that Facebook Food Group, 'Best Meal Ever' when their wife gets a curry jar from Asda or they went to Caesar’s Palace in town.
