Bit heavy like, but

Musicians make appalling comments all the time. Bowie and Clapton both thought it'd be great to have a fascist dictatorship in Britain; Ferry said he was an admirer of the pageantry of Nazism and cited Leni Reifenstahl and Albert Speer as influences.

That's not to excuse them AT ALL. But it's funny the world moves on from that but not Cat Steven's comments after his. Some might think that's anti-Islamist.

The difference is that Cat Stevens still equivocates over it.

Clapton is still an arsehole too, tbh.

Bowie did express regret for his flirtation with far right imagery and the stupid things he said during his most cocaine-addled phase.

Looking back on it, this years headliners was a massive step back. they pretty much had 3 acts where people wanted to hear songs they realised 20+ years ago, give or take

A massive popstar (Taylor Swift), a hiphop type person, and fleetwood mac would work next year

But he did apologise for his flippant remarks.

People just dont want to hear that. They've been potty-trained to react like a gammon at all mention of that religion.

Spot on. Same with McCartney last year.

They are legends but they cant hack it for anything like a full 90 minute set or whatever.

It's toe curling stuff.

One exception: I thought Chrissie Hynde rolled back the years with the Pretenders

There was an awful lot of made up stuff about him in the past too like him refusing to talk to unveilved women etc which is obviously not remotely true.
