He campaigned to keep Section 28 as well. But he did apologise for his flippant remarks.
People just dont want to hear that. They've been potty-trained to react like a gammon at all mention of that religion.

Elton gave a master class for 2 hours last night… hit after hitSpot on. Same with McCartney last year.
They are legends but they cant hack it for anything like a full 90 minute set or whatever.
It's toe curling stuff.
One exception: I thought Chrissie Hynde rolled back the years with the Pretenders
And yet totally blind to rampant noncery in their own religion. But he did apologise for his flippant remarks.

Kendrick Lemar headlining the Saturday last year went down really well. They need to try and nail down a similarly popular 'current' artist next year IMO.Looking back on it, this years headliners was a massive step back. they pretty much had 3 acts where people wanted to hear songs they realised 20+ years ago, give or take
A massive popstar (Taylor Swift), a hiphop type person, and fleetwood mac would work next year
I saw Elton live 2 weeks ago , 2 1/2 hours voice as strong as ever . His only wobbly bits were getting up the steps to the stage. I really enjoyed him last night at Glasto, he’s going out at the top , I suspect his health and strength will fade before his voice does. His voice sounded as strong on Rocket Man as it did 2 hours earlier on Pinball Wizard.
It was a fantastic performance from him from start to finish.
Didn't even play Circle of Life either ffs! Could have done another 30 minutes such was he in the mood to put on such a show

Why do they need to do that?Kendrick Lemar headlining the Saturday last year went down really well. They need to try and nail down a similarly popular 'current' artist next year IMO.
Why do they need to do that?
It's obviously a success regardless.
Oh behave - Elton John and McCartney are two of the very few artists who should be headlining Glastonbury. Can't hack a 90 minute set? That's weird, because I just watched Elton John play 21 hit singles in a row over 2 hours.Spot on. Same with McCartney last year.

Classic acts are still relevent though. That's why they are classics.it's important to be relevant still though, and they will be aware of that too - there are so many festivals now and this one is very expensive

It will always sell out, I'm not even sure people go for the music! I reckon a lare amount of the crowd have never been to another festival and never will and would just do "Glasto" every year as it's the done thing.
When I used to go regularly I never gave a crap who was playing. Probably saw a handful of main stage acts in several years. There are so many stages and so much going on, you can always find something to stop and have a groove to.Classic acts are still relevent though. That's why they are classics.
