Elton had the crowd in the palm of his hand for the 2 hours.Completely wrong venue for people in the twilight of their careers. McCartney is 80 and Elton not far behind. If they were physically up to it then no problem. I'm not falling into that ageist trap. However, generally speaking, you feel yourself reaching a bit for these people trying to work an audience of 200,000 people when they are way past their peak vocal and movement wise.
It's truly bizarre seeing these people dragging their carcasses around and still attempting to get away with it. It's pure patronisation to say they can still offer a great couple of hours entertainment. They cant.
I've never seen a crowd like that before, so the people who paid to go to the festival clearly wanted to watch Elton. And that speaks for itself.
