If people like Elton aren't headlining the Sunday who is? Modern day music is crap live.

Whom do you suggest should headline then?
Media spin?It's all media spin.
They did this last time after McCartney who could barely bang a song out that was recognisable from his peak.
Join in the national myth making if you want, but I see septuagenarians who should never headline Glastonbury.
I like Elton John's stuff. And McCartney's for that matter.Says you.
200k last night would disagree and pretty much everyone on this thread disagrees as well.
who can sing their back catalogue with a bit more clarity and gusto than they managed.
It's all media spin.

I just said that old timer wise a group like the Manic Street Preachers or even the Pretenders - who were fantastic with Marr and Grohl making guest appearances - would knock that slot out of the ball park.
Take a look at Guns and Roses to understand what I mean. That was a calamity. Elton and Macca this year and last got through it with a big effort from the crowd, but it's exhausting watching it.Media spin?
People were reacting to it live as it happened.
I am not joining in anything, I didn't even watch it!
What does "never headline Glastonbury" even mean? There is no rule for it. Its basically a TV event these days that caters to the masses.
Oh right, sorry I thought you were messing.I just said that old timer wise a group like the Manic Street Preachers or even the Pretenders - who were fantastic with Marr and Grohl making guest appearances - would knock that slot out of the ball park.
No contradiction. I said earlier it's not about age it's a matter of strength and the abilty to preserve their voice and movement.
Did you watch them?Oh right, sorry I thought you were messing.
Did I watch whom?Did you watch them?
No contradiction.
I will agree with that - their placing on the bill was really weird to meBecause they all will it to be a communion. The will is there to reach out and embrace these old headline acts. That's a whole different matter to the quality of what they knock out now though.
Personally...and I've never been an uber fan of theirs...I thought the best 'old time' act on Glastonbury this year were the Manic Street Preachers. 'kin ell, there's some bangers in that set of theirs that would be electric on the Pyramid Stage 9-11 Saturday or Sunday night.
Yeah GNR have been a mess for years.Take a look at Guns and Roses to understand what I mean. That was a calamity. Elton and Macca this year and last got through it with a big effort from the crowd, but it's exhausting watching it.
Springsteen a few years back was the last time I saw a 'vintage' act on a Saturday night smash that slot.
