Tarashaj is an attacking midfielder mate

LB
Luke Garbutt
Bryan Oviedo
Leighton Baines

Now im gonna try and be totally honest in this whole write up and potentially leave myself open to much vaulting, but here goes, I personally wouldnt have given Oviedo a new contract, I like the boy, hes got heart and he gives everything he has, at times hes superb and I know im being totally unfair but I dont think hes good enough, BUT, as a squad option, I can see the value and the reason he was given 1.

Garbutt is a strange 1 for me, the floppy haired beaut looked decent when he played, wand of a left foot and didnt look bad at the back, but I just really dont like him, cant put my finger on it, sorry Luke, you seem a decent lad, so forgive me, you still have time to grow on me, but I wouldnt shed tears to see you leave, hopefully you ram these words down my throat next season.

Leighton Baines has his doubters, but I will never be 1 of them, an utterly superb specimen of a man and football player.

No transfers needed here, POSSIBLY could afford to lose Garbutt or Bryan, but Garbutt still has potential and Oviedo is a good body to have around.

I slated martinez for giving him a new contract and prior to that said i hoped he would be off this summer.

You massively disagreed about Oviedo, yet here say you wouldnt have given him a new contract..

Getting old?

You dont rate the youngsters Connelly or Kenny as back up to Coleman? No Galloway, Davies or Pennington who I thought all did well when they were called on.

I personally dont think any of the youngsters will be given game time.

Not when hes gonna have 120m to spend from the Lukaku and Stones sale, added to the 100m hes meant to have to spend, the young uns wont get a sniff.

Players like Besic, Gibson, Oviedo, will be lucky to even see the pitch nevermind the young lads.

Good thread, and all I can say is God our squad is horrible. Losing Lukaku and Stones shouldnt give me headaches normally, but with this squad they are kinda priceless.

And a month after the last edit its time to update the squad list, im still not going to put any "young" players in the squad and I will be taking out the players who didnt get a squad number.

Shifted around a few players positionally (my opinion) and added youngsters in parenthesis.

Manager :
Ronald Koeman

GK
** No idea....
Maarten Stekelenburg
Joel Robles

RB
Seamus Coleman
* No idea....
(Kenny/Connolly)

LB

Bryan Oviedo
Leighton Baines
(Galloway)

CB
Phil Jagielka
Ramiro Funes Mori
John Stones
** Williams, Indi Martins, Fonte?
(Pennington)

CM
Muhamed Besic
James McCarthy
Tom Cleverley
Gareth Barry
Darron Gibson
Idrissa Gueye
(Tom Davies)

AM
Ross Barkley
** Mata/Zieyech
Shani Tarashaj
(Dowell)

LW
Kevin Mirallas
** No idea..

RW
Aaron Lennon
Gerard Deulofeu

ST
Romelu Lukaku
** Bas Dost?
Arouna Kone*

So we NEED:
GK - first choice
DC - Rotation
AM - Rotation
AML - Rotation/first choice
SC - Rotation

And would be nice with a backup right-back as well.
Yet we are being linked with more defensive midfielders.
Seems very unbalanced. I am wondering if Koeman will consider Cleverley as a backup LW/AM option instead?

Expecting some edits in this thread later on today.

Dont let me down Everton.

I will take a closer look at the squad maybe sometime on Friday prior to the game, but of course most of the work will be done after the window SLAMS SHUT and we have played 3 games allowing me to have a better idea of tactics, formation and league finish predictions.

Mate...you realize right footed players can play left wing and left footed players can play right wing, no? Arjen Robben says hi. Perhaps the most one footed player ever...

....................Stekelenburg
...........Kone......Williams.....Indi
Coleman............Gueye...............Baines

Thats got "mid-table at best" written all over it.

Didnt know where to put that donkey Bolasie so didnt bother with the rest.
