I previously thought that but watching the rare appearances he made in pre-season I thought he looked sharp in the box, good footwork, managed to sneak into space etc. In fact either him or Del playing off Lukaku / Bony as a second striker might work best in some games IMO.

hi @MoutsGoat, big time fan, could you re-arrange the order of players in what you believe to be first choice, second choice etc.

I have no idea who's RB backup, if martinez was still here i'd fancy kenny, but he's been away so much this summer with england etc. there's no indication as to whether koeman has even seen him. I'd sat Holgate is no.1 backup atm, but we have kenny, browning, pennington, possibly oviedo and then maybe connelly as well who could all fill that void. I'd hope not to see mccarthy play there again.

I firmly believe Ronald will not use any players from the youth set up, he will look to loan out as many as possible in the hope that they kick on, until I see evidence of anything different thats the stance I will take. If anybody from the youth set up stakes a claim for a squad place I will of course add them to the squad list.

The squad list isnt finalised as yet, but I will take onboard what your saying and adjust it accordingly for you.

But the * next to RB indicates I feel we currently dont have RB cover I deem acceptable.

i'm sure ronald himself could still a job in that right back slot. I don't think we'll bring one in, i'm happy about it because a few of those youngsters are getting rave reviews, on the other hand, coleman gets injured ... considering we'll have about 7 centre midfielders ... why don't we have a genuine backup right back.

To review, I personally think we need the following.

A number 1 GK
A back up RB
A CB, if Koeman is considering on loaning out some youth players or playing 3 at the back for any period of time or selling Jags or Mori
2 CMs that know what a forward pass looks like, I would, at a push accept Mata or a ACM of that quality, the entire midfield is for sale, with the exception of the boy Gueye and of course the Bosnian Zidane
Ideally 2 LWs
Ideally 2 STs with of course Kone being punted from the highest height possible

No place for Garbutt in Koemans squad, if hes given a squad number at some point I will add him.

The boy Browning as our Welsh Friend says is a little bit fubared currently, the boy Holgate could be called upon at a push and I constantly hear the boy Kennys name although personally ive never seen the lad play, it may be the case Koeman doesnt get in a back up RB, it would be a gamble, but not the end of the world, a long term injury to Coleman and we have a few options.

As mentioned the boys Holgate or Kenny or maybe somebody else just lurking in the youth set up whos able to step up, he could even go to a back 3 and play the boy Lennon as a wing back, he has the defensive game to be able to do a job, but my concern and maybe Koemans concern would be the gamble factor.

I think he will do something in that area, but if not, we have some options.
 
Haven't seen any of the youngsters play properly.

Hoping to get a chance to see Dowell play at some point. A lot of people seem to rate him.
