None of them really need the extra money that is on offer. The money that is involved on the PGA tour is surely high enough, even for the lower of the top ranked players, obviously you do get to a point where it obviously isn't but it is just plain greed for the top top players.

The players that are being mentioned have been on this kind of money for years (maybe with the exception of Bland but his form in the last year or so would have got him a decent amount of prize money/sponsorship deals).

I’m sure I read an article that says some of the top players on the PGA Tour also have PGA pension funds in excess of $100m, that’s $100m in addition to their career prize money, sponsorship deals etc ?!
