He had an opportunity early to put pressure on when Harman started 2 over after 3, but he hasn't played quite well enough since then. Too many tentative putts in the front 9.

I dont see anyone getting close to Harman unless he has an absolute shocker tomorrow. The course is playing as easy today as it has all week.

Still the 17th to come so never say never lol

It is crazy how bad his putting is, though. He should be at least -6 after that round today and he's missed a load of simple putts, did the same in the Open on the last day last year. It's all in his head as you can see that he can't let a missed putt go, he was shaking his head all the way round the back 9 there.

Not watching, but the same player won the Scottish Open just last week. And is pretty high up the money/points list most seasons. Playing mainly the same opponents.

Like Harmen is barely top 20 isnt he? Has a 6 shot lead over "better" players. In The Open.

Mcilroy and Scheffler are consistently by far the best players tee to green, but both of them are extremely inconsistent at making putts. If they were slightly above average on the greens they would both win every month

For some mate. I was in the grandstand on Thursday and trust me, a lot of the players went to take the shot and then backed off and reset. It's a hole that puts a whole lot of doubt in a players mind when the pressure is on.
Yeah but with no wind and softer conditions, its a pretty easy shot for top level pros.

Need some wind tomorrow for there to be some excitement

Yeah, he's arguably the best player in the world but for some reason can't seem to get it right with the putter in a Major. If he was even in the top 25% for putting he would probably dominate golf in the same way that Tiger did, but for some reason, it constantly lets him down. It's a shame as the rest of his game is unbelievable at times.

Add the US open last month to that exact same story.

Its the game innit? Every player good enough to earn a living playing golf, can beat anyone. Look at the odds before a ball was hit for the current leader. I have no idea what they were, but I doubt they were very short.

Indeed. As for Woods, undoubtably one of the best ever. But it is, or was, a complaint from other players that many non major courses were set up for him. Sponsors and all that. 3 pros have told me that, but they are cool with it, cos Tiger winning and them finishing after a cut made decent coin for them anyrate.

Never knew that, and to me, it doesn't really make sense as it's not like he played a different course to everyone else. Interesting if it is true, as I'd like to know how the courses differed to suit his game specifically.

I think you're right on the money side, he elevated the game to a different level. I feel like had he been at the Open this week, the atmosphere would have been well better as there's a buzz around him when he is there.
