“Hi Jon, would you like 250mil to join LIV?”
“No, I respect tradition.”
“How about 400mil?”
“Yeah that’ll work. Where do I sign?”

Honestly I don’t really see LIV ever getting popular. The stars that leave will be replaced by the next generation and they’ll largely be forgotten until the majors... For that much cash though, they clearly just don’t care.
LIV is a gimmick, it'll have fans that turn up to watch it but doubtful it'll ever have that overall care factor like the PGA tour does. No ones ever gonna say "remember that putt player x sunk on the 17th to take the lead at the 'insert tournament name here' ".

Like comparing the IPL to the Ashes

Depends on the players involved in any given week for me. If the final day head to head between Tommy and Rory the other week was a LIV tournament, I’d have still watched it and loved it.

But the total lack of history will kill it. I loved going to Opens at Lythm and Birkdale with my dad in the 90s. It’s a bit misty eyed but you can feel the grandeur of it all and the desire for the title and a place in history rather than a bucket full of sandy cash. It could build that history over time, but don’t think it will get the amount of time needed, and the organisers won’t have the patience. Just bolt it on to what already works for a bit of a change for a few events. Some people will love the razzmatazz I guess. But no amount of cash can buy what the Masters has.

Scheffler has worked out how to putt

And if he keeps this up he could win a stack of tournaments this year
If he putts well in the right sixteen rounds, he'll have a Slam.

It's like the second version of Tiger, who always won when he brought his 'A' game and could steal the odd tournament with the 'B' game. We just had not seen Scottie's 'A' putter since Phoenix last year.

The thing that's amazing about Scheffler isn't the ball striking itself. It's how incredibly consistent it is, week in and week out. Other people hit it a little better when they're on a roll, but no one shows up at 95% capacity every week.

Showed a shot earlier where his follow through looked like when other players hook it into the car park and let go of the club, and he practically fell over. But currently playing like a metronome.

Fantastic antidote to the modern online “PGA Pros” who release a YouTube video every single day with another secret swing bombshell. “Wish I knew this takeaway secret sooner.” Give it a rest.

Should be a good final round at the TPC today.

I always look at Schauffele and just think he doesn't look comfortable when he's out in front. Just looks like he tightens up at key moments.

Fitzpatrick probably a little too far behind unless those at the front play poor but thats who I shall be cheering on today.
