Goodison Park : New Exterior.

What about people who have never seen Goodison ash? They come to see it, it looks nice and modern...ish and decide they want to see inside (Will be left disappointed but that's not my point) brings extra revenue in and we get to look at a nicer stadium outside rather than a friggin bin

To a certain extent that is true yes.

But one of the charms also is how old the stadium is. Opposing fans don't want to turn up to goodison and get a wannabe arsenal experience at the ground, they want goodison park. The ground that is over 100 years old, history. So if the place is tatty then it is tatty, looks a bit more forced decorating the walls outside.

well consider it from the other side? Looks like we are jazzing the place up to deflect any need for a new stadium to any outsider? Why build a brand new stadium when we have improved the look of this one?

the cladding improves the look of the ground sure, same as the timeline around it does. But the banner things look like we are literally hiding what is underneath

Because we are - the stadium is a lot easier on the eye now as you approach the stadium, only a good thing.

What do you want them to do? paint it? The wrap around is a better idea and allows us to show respect to former players. Painting it would be stupid and cladding all the way around wouldn't be feasible

i asked that last night and people thought i was being sim for suggesting it.

But if this was liverpool doing it, would we not be taking the mick out of them for it? We take the mick for much less, yet seem fine with the club covering the walls up!

Mate, if you can't see the benefit of making the ground look a bit tidier, then there's no hope for you.

It could be at least 5 years until we move on to a new ground, so isn't it a good thing to brighten up the place and make the match going experience a little bit more pleasant for people?

I for one think it looks really good and I've been saying they should do something like this for years.

Where the wraparound is.... it may have looked better with Er white cladding, blue and white rings a bell like. But will admit looks a lot better than it did.

We take the mick out of their Big stand as they didn't want to stump up the cash to move stadium, by all accounts we are moving soon so just wanted to give Goodison that little bit of TLC it has needed for many years to make the match going experience better for people
