This thread is getting far too scientific for my liking.

:(

Hah, yeah sorry... I guess a lot of my stuff is going off on another tangent regarding diet because I regard as the other side of the "fitness" coin.

Getting back to exercise... any of you chaps work out using a heart-rate monitor? I'm rarely without mine whenever I'm doing any cardio sessions (not so essential when doing weights/strength stuff though). All my training is based around heart-rate zones.

So a lad i work with has just signed up for the worlds toughest foot race. Held annually in Death Valley in the summertime, where the temperature is mild 45C. You basically have 48 hours to complete the 135 miles. Only the elite are accepted into this race. I guess this lad has been training for this for quite a long time. I don't know the ins and outs and qualifying times etc... but he has applied all the same. Unbelievable...... !! Just reading about it has me sweating. Its incredible how the body can adjust to these conditions and endurance. WOW

The first time station is at the 23 mile mark (all uphill) hahahaha

The mens record for the 135 miles is 22 hours 51 minutes

Anyway, check it out
