Another ride today, another puncture. Getting heartily sick of this weather.

I do most my riding on single lane roads which turn to crap in the winter and ive only had 2 slow punctures in 12 months. Im running gatorskins and I cant speak highly enough of them.
On another note Bruce, when you go abroad do you drive down, rent or take your bike in a bike box/bag? Ive booked flights to Caracassone, not quite sure how i should go about transporting the velo.
Continental 4000s. I know they're not 'winter' tyres, but have never had any problems with them over the last 4-5 years of using them. This year has been a stinker though. So much crud on the roads, which coupled with the dampness seems to make it puncture ville. Only been out four times and have picked up six punctures lol
Think I'll stick to the turbo until May![]()
So I'm contemplating entering my first Amateur Strongman competition. There is an event being help in Ellesmere Port at the end of April which consists of the following:
Farmers Walk: 100kg x 20m for time (as assume it is 100kg per arm).
Log Press: 80kg for reps over 75 seconds
Dead Lift: 180kg for reps over 60 seconds
Yoke: 220kg x 20m for time
Kettlebell hold: 20kg at arms length forward hold for time
Stone over Yoke: 100kg Atlas stone to 52" height, 75 second limit.
Anyone else in to this style of training?
Nice!Me and the wife have started the men's and women's Canadian Air Force fitness program (5BX and XBX respectively).
The idea is that you build fitness up gradually rather than go for Olympic standards of training. It's ideal for folk who are busy and tight on time, and are generally not gym-goers.
Going ok so far. My mum and dad did it years ago to good effect. George Burns did it and got to 100!
