Agreed, I like peas and mangetout - do they count!? (n)

I chuck chopped spinach in everything, full of goodness, wilts down to nothing and does not really taste of much, brilliant in any pasta dish.

Also, make a pasta suace (or buy one) chop up loads of carrot/sweet potato/broccoli/cabbage whatever and whizz to death with a blender, a suace full of goodness but tastes of pasta sauce.

Failing that peas and mange tout it is then. Assuming also Sweetcord, EVERYONE likes sweetcorn.

Struggling with a shoulder injury lately. Haven't tied up 2 weeks of lifting since the end of the summer when I twisted it doing dumbell flys(never doing that crap again)

Finally clocked in a couple of workouts and my shoulder seems healthy.

Looking to reach 100kg till the summer. Currently at 93kg.

I'm the tall/skinny(hardgainer) type so the only problem I have is being lazy at eating lol

Looking to start running some more as well.

Ok, more or less resolved on the 235. Now for the hard stuff. For public witness, I'll document my goals here:

Get back into running
Lose 2 stone

First, about the knee soreness...
Good luck with the running goals. I use a garmin 810 for cycling and the consensus is great hardware, absolutely mince software. I've never used garmin connect for this reason.

Are you on the foam roller Serenity nigh? I've been pretty impressed with how it deals with little muscular niggles - I know some runner's swear by them for the IT band, which is often implicated in knee problems. Can be bloody painful rolling it, but you can control how much bodyweight you apply.

Never used a roller before but I’ve also never had ITBS from what I can tell. Not sure exactly what’s going on now but I’ll take it slow for now.

Trying to get back into it in earnest now. Has anyone used a Garmin Forerunner and have any thoughts on it?

I use the Garmin Forerunner 35 and find it perfect for what I need. If I want further detail then I can look on the Strava APP on my phone.

I'm running 2 x 5k's a week and attending a running club twice a week. Also hit the Gym twice a week for Core, Chest and Arm training. Holiday body nearly ready :)

Using the Westside Barbell method of training. Strength and mass going up like a rocket. About 20% gain in BP & DL in 8 weeks. Hard to say where muscle memory starts and good training begins, but definitely lifting far more than before I started using it.

For those who like a bit of a run out on the hills - the record for the Bob Graham round fell at the weekend. The BG is 66 miles, 42 fells in the Lake District in 24 hours and he record was set in 1982 (!) by legendary fell runner Billy Bland - absolute milestone at just under 14 hours. It has now been smashed by Spanish ultra runner Kilian Jornet to just under 13.

Considering the temp at the weekend, that is incredible.

I`m a trail runner and I`ve been choosing the most tree lined / shady routes for the past month or so, to try minimise the effect of the heat.

Plus, the soft ground everywhere is like concrete, so your feet and legs take a real pounding too.

That record will stand for a very long time.

* hope he wasn`t juiced up lol

Yeah you'd have to say that looks like it's staying in the record books for a while. Although if more overseas runners come and have a dig at it, then who knows. I don't know much about the ultra running scene but the guy sounds like he's The Boss, so it could be one for the ages.

Apparently the conditions were a key part of such an epic time, a lot of boggy ground in the Lakes is as dry as it's been in living memory.
