Still boxing and enjoying it hugely, hoping to line up a fight with Wilder or Joshua towards the end of next year. Haven't run as much as I was but going for a run tonight and boxing again Sunday so back into a decent routine. I'm 5st down since April/May so really chuffed with that, little bit more off in the new year and keep up with the fitness, helps with the mental health side of things a lot as well.

That's awesome mate, well done.

On my 6th week of intermittent fasting now feel great.

10k down to 49:03
5k 20:18

Been mixing cardio and weights and holding my strength feel alot leaner.

Not into all these fad diets and that but would reccomend this intermittent fasting to anyone.
Nice running. I’m not sure how serious you are about your running compared to other things you do , but your 5 km time suggests that you could knock at least 5 minutes off your 10 k time. This is a big margin , but should be achievable if you were to increase your training distances above 10k to build some stamina that allowed you to keep up a 7 min/mile pace for about 10 k.

Nice one mate, yeah my P.B for 10 k is around 42:20, that was a couple of years ago. Looking to get it down to 45 within the next month, feeling like it should be a problem at all.

Ive always been in and out the gym, boxed from a young age so running has been abit of a strong point with me but have goten alot lazier than usualy over the past two years and i put on abit of weight, not much only around 4-5 kg but enough to massivley hamper my training as ive never really carried much excess. Lost most of it now, feeling fit again.

The think with this intermittent fasting ive noticed whilst running after i fast i feel so much lighter, i know it sounds so obvious but the first few km where im usually battling through i feel good now.

Fitness freaks help me out.

My running is going great guns still. Getting times down all the time but last couple of weeks my left knee has been killing me. Mainly on the downhill bits...which used to be my favourite bits!

Any ideas? I don’t think it’s a show issue.

Possibly the wrong running shoes / the ones you’re using need changing ?

When my knees start to ache that’s when I know the cushioning has gone mine

Could be a number of things , Runners knee, ITB problems pulling on knee, patella tendinitis or worse , but unlikely , tear to meniscus in knee. Ideally you should see a physio, a good one will move your leg/knee through a range of positions to find where you get pain, identify the problem and advise accordingly.
As you’ve come onto GOT to ask a bunch of strangers , I am assuming you won’t be going down the physio route just yet. So get on the internet and find a decent site that will help you to narrow it down . It’s not ideal , but if you can pinpoint the place of the pain, front , outside of knee etc, when it occurs e.g. running downhill you might get yourself a diagnosis.Along with the diagnosis there’ll be a range of advice, maybe reduce downhill running, get new shoes, do various stretches, foam roller certain bits of the body etc. Good luck .......the truth is out there if you can find it!
