Just getting back to my running after nearly 2 yrs of due to suffering from plantar fasciitis anyone who's suffered from it will understand the pain it causes, up to 3 miles not sure I'll be able to up my mileage still have a little pain so properly at my limit.
You have my deepest sympathy on that mate , I lost 1 1/2 years of running to PF from middle of 2014 and virtually all of 2015. Nursed myself back into running during 2016 , did a 5km parkrun PB in October that year and my first marathon for 20 years six months afterwards. So the message is you can definitely recover and get back to running again.

I researched everything on PF while injured , I could do a PhD thesis on it , and I’m sure you’ve done similar, somuch conflicting advice and everybody is different . While I don’t currently “suffer” from PF I do consider I’ve still got it , in the same way a recovering alcoholic/ gambler is aware they can’t let things slip. My PF originated from my calves after doing increased mileage and adding in hill sessions. I now use a hand held foam roller on my calves 4 or 5 times a week, just a few minutes on each one is enough for me.

I won’t bore you with everything I tried, but acupuncture helped to break it and I really don’t want to go back to having Dr Wu sticking needles in the soles of my feet again! Good luck with your recovery.

Running Club tonight and I'm going to wear my support (v.soft) trainers. Its Fartlek training tonight but I won't be pushing it. Just want to see 5km clock up pain free so I know I'm ok for the Born2Run Forest run on Saturday. Only 2 first runs left of the series and would love to complete them. Then I can concentrate on easing right up to let everything settle down before training again for the summer and autumn series starting.

Tripped and fell on the treadmill yesterday.

Old me would have walked out, but I just laughed about it and carried on.

Up to running 5k every day now, weight is dropping off - but can't kick the temptation of snacking. Anyone have any ideas about how I can stop filling my fat gob with [Poor language removed]?

Drinking water all day long pretty much stops me from snacking completely now.

@Nymzee I switched from having a packet of crisps in work to an oat bar and yogurt. At home I would eat more grapes or those fruit in jelly instead of an unhealthier snack. Also drinking much less alcohol than I normally would even if it makes supporting Everton that bit more difficult ;)

Running Club was Pain free last night which was a relief. I' still be taking it easy now until Saturdays race.

Good afternoon mate how are you doing today.

Well January started off okay but then I got struck down with a combination of a new missus, a dose of cba and then a bout of flu. Slowly getting to the end of my sickness so decided to sign up for this new gym down the road starting Monday.

Aiming for 4x 20 min HIIT sessions per week on top of 2hrs football on Monday nights. Hoping that’ll help shift the love handles and beer belly.

I'd really recommend the HIIT that I'm doing on the treadmill at the moment. It hurts, but it's worth it. I actually look forward to it, weirdly, because I want to keep upping my best.

I’m gonna do mine on the bike; years of football has rendered treadmills painful on my joints.

Seeing as you’re in Cumbria, find a nice scenic hill / fell.

One mile slow warm up jog beforehand, then ten one minute sprints up the hill / walk down.

Repeat ten times and warm down with a slow one mile jog on the way home.

Much better than doing HIT in the gym ;)
