GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Tony Kahn has made an utter fool of both himself and his company. He sided with morons who couldn't draw flies to crap over a proven megastar. Jungle no-mark completely derailed his own push and still isn't back from suspension all while Punk just walked himself into a main event slot at Wrestlemania. Lol. The elite have absolutely ruined that company.

Rollins hates him, but Rollins is also known as a "what's best for the business" kind of guy, too.

I'd give it a year at most before Punk causes cancer again..

He’s in a company where people put business before personal grudges instead of running to the dirt sheets.

This is going to be great.

They executed the return perfectly. Even to the point where HHH told them to put the graphics on the screen at the end.

WWE is operating on a different level these days.

I'll be surprised if Punk makes it to Mania.

I'm enjoy AEW more than WWE at the moment, but I still want both to succeed, the more wrestling there is on the telly rhe better.

He’ll be at mania and probably headline it.

People are letting their AEW fandom rule their head here.

WWE simply won’t allow their top stars to brief the dirt sheets, wrestlers won’t be going into business for themselves, and he’ll be protected from the scrums post PPV.

Punk didn’t help himself at AEW, but the real issue was a company ran by a mark siding with fellas who can’t draw over a genuine superstar.

Instead of telling everyone acting like adults he had to create a TV show to keep wrestlers away from eachother.

It’s a shame how it’s worked out for AEW but this is what happens when you have wrestlers running the show.

Why would he not make it to Maina? This idea that he's impossible to work with all comes from lies spread by the EVP's and their gang of cronies at AEW (who where the ones that refused to be adults, bury the hatchet and work together on what would've bee the biggest angle that company has ever had). Even if Punk can be difficult to work with at times its a different dynamic at WWE, where everyone is at least moderately professional. Rollins has already completely shown up the Bucks and their pals by proving that he's willing to be professional and work with someone that he doesn't like, because its good for business.

Maina is already shaping up very nicely.

Rollins Vs CM Punk the main event of night one and Reigns Vs Cody Rhodes on night two.

With the likes of Orton back and Walter doing so well WWE is in a really good place now. Probably the best its been in years and years.

Meanwhile over in AEW they're as ice cold as they've ever been. They've lost their biggest ever draw in Punk. One of their founders in Cody Rhodes who is now arguably the most over face in wrestling. And Jade Cargill who they pushed to the moon and still chose to leave. Its all at the feet of Tony Kahn. He books his shows like a little kid on the PlayStation. I truly wouldn't be surprised if Jericho walked at some point and went back for his final run in WWE.

Can't wait for Reigns to win again against Cody 🙄 with the Bloodline interfering Yay

I think there is a difference between in ring smarts and plain get your cronies to interrupt every challenging match he has. Must rather watch Brock take someone to suplex city.

MJF, Rollins, & Gunter's title runs are more entertaining to me.

Why the hate for AEW? The matches they put on are so much better than WWE currently. I love both companies, went to the house show in the M&S arena the Summer just gone, went to Clash of the Castle in Cardiff and was devasted Drew didn't win. Went to All In and saw Punks final AEW match with Joe and the event was better than Clash of the Castle hands down, and went to New York/New Jersey and watched live CM punk lose to undertaker in Taker's last unbeaten Mania which is my Fav match ever.

I agree with @Blue 1 that having more Wrestling brands is better for Wrestling and I want both to succeed.

AEW is great if you want to watch your favourite wrestlers from the Indy’s and Japan have dream matches.

There’s nothing to it other than that.

No storylines, no good characters, no investment in matches. There’s a reason the arenas are half empty when they come to town.

Each to their own, but I enjoy WWE a lot more than AEW. It’s a different company now Vince has gone away.

Reigns won't win this time. It was definite mistake on WWE's part not letting Rhodes win last year but whatever. They've dragged it out because they felt there was still legs on the Bloodline story and they where right. He'll lose this year. Regardless, I'm still more interested in Rhodes Vs Reigns 2 them anything AEW has to offer.

That kind of title reign might be more entertaining to you or me but obviously not to the casual audience as ratings prove.

Its not a question of hate for AEW. Its disappointment. I wanted them to succeed so badly, I wanted the "sports based" presentation that was talked about at the start. Instead we got the worst of the indies on a global scale. Two thirds of AEW match's are just plain stupid. The good stuff (because when its good, its really good) gets lost in the shuffle among all the nonsense like a Young Bucks dance recital or two guys literally drinking each others blood like it was an edgey/cool spot. AEW could've and should've been so much more than it is.

It is still early days, I mean WWE have had loads of stupid gimmicks.

But it's entertainment and when you are a smaller brand like AEW you have to cater to more live fans and that's when more crazier matches happen.

I watched Smackdown a few weeks back and half of it was promo's and a few boring matches honestly the worst wrestling show I've ever watched.

Sure, I agree. WWE has plenty of daft spot and gimmicks. I'm not apologist for them. I watched WCW, TNA and ROH when they where the competition so I've almost always rooted for the alternative brand. I'm more then aware of WWE's flaws but I know what I'm getting with them, we all do. They aren't a wrestling show, they tell you that repeatedly. Its "sports Entertainment" featuring big melodramatic storylines and the ring is just the backdrop. They've always been that way.

AEW on the other hand said very on that they where going to be "sports based" style wrestling and they aren't anything of the kind. Most of their matchs are less believable then anything WWE puts on but a good deal more full of themselves. The fact that they cater so much to the live crowd and neglect the border fanbase is why their overall audience is shrinking by the week. It doesn't work half the time anyway. That horrible stadium stampede match at Wembley was unwatchable for me as a fan there live.

I agree with you that WWE weekly programing is is terrible at times but again the audience is good so they must be doing something right even if it doesn't appeal to me. Because you've got to ask yourself, what are WWE doing on those terrible Smackdown shows that are able to draw more viewers then AEW get combined for Dynimate, Collision and Rampage together? And why can't AEW even get close to the ratings that TNA impact used to get.

The viewership comment is beyond illogical. That's like saying gotta ask yourself why Saudi league can't get the same viewership Premier league gets.

The reason is obvious it is WWE has been deep routed in North America & UK for decades. How often do you a think a mass amount of fans simply abandon something they loved for years especially when the product is only growing?
