Its not illogical at all. Forget WWE. AEW get viewership that TNA would've been humiliated by when they where on spike. The viewership comment is beyond illogical. That's like saying gotta ask yourself why Saudi league can't get the same viewership Premier league gets.
The reason is obvious it is WWE has been deep routed in North America & UK for decades. How often do you a think a mass amount of fans simply abandon something they loved for years especially when the product is only growing?
Nobody is saying that AEW should be really competitive with WWE (although Tony Kahn likes to play make believe and act like they are). But when you constantly take shots at the "other guys" while having three shows that can't match one of theirs its embarrassing. AEW's viewership peaked years ago. People gave them a chance and the company left those people with a bad first impression. They even had a second chance with Punk because he made them look mainstream for a bit and they blew that too. The only people they have left right now are the same fans that watch every week and even they don't watch when they have any alternatives now. And that's just tv, the arenas are half empty in most venues. They can't even give away tickets in some markets and Its obvious why but nobody in AEW wants to say because they don't want to upset the money mark that's paying them so well. The company have presented themselves as a niche product that caters to only the most hardcore fan. If you aren't familiar with Japanese and Mexican Wrestling along with the indies then you won't have a clue who half their stars are because AEW have done such a terrible job of telling you who these guys are and why you should care about them. You can't just stick a buch of match's on with no story and think that will draw, even if its a banger, because it won't. Forget growing, AEW is shrinking right now. Its as cold as its ever been and its all their own fault.
