Womens was good, just hard to see Bayley as a Wrestlemania main event after being booked so weak for the past few years...but she's never got this spot so good luck to her....
Men's was average....the shadow of the Rock has kinda gone against what they might be doing at Mania.....why did they tease Rock vs Roman?.....4 hours is too long also, by the time it got to the final 5 of the mens, I had nearly checked out....Punk clearly looked to be going heel too...
First time in along time the Rumble had no legend spot
it felt like it was only going to be a matter of time before they let Bayley win it tbh
she's part of the four horsewoman and the other 3 have been pushed heavily in WWE compared to her
Charlotte Flair was obviously going to be pushed the hardest because of her father - 14 x women's champion, 1 x tag team champion and won the royal rumble in 2020
Becky Lynch - became the biggest WWE women's star after her "The Man" gimmick - 6 x women's champion, 1 x tag team champion, she won the royal rumble in 2019 and she held both women's championship belts at Wrestlemania 35
Sasha Banks - probably the most popular woman in the four horseman when they all joined the WWE main roster and obviously her cousin is Snoop Dogg as well - 6 x women's champions, 3 x tag team champion and had the iconic headlining match at Wrestlemania 37 with Bianca Belair which was the first time two african-american wrestlers faced each other in the main event of Wrestlemania. She is now the only one of the four horsewomen who hasn't won the women's Royal Rumble so when she returns to WWE i expect she will complete it.
in comparison Bayley has been slept on
She actually was massive in NXT and had a very impressive match with Sasha Banks at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn in 2015, one of the matches of the year. Since she got drafted to the main roster her achievements have been minor in comparison to the other four horsewomen. WWE didn't really see her as a main event star because her gimmick at the time was hugging people and being happy. She is a 3 x women's champion and 2 x tag team champion and now the 2024 royal rumble winner.
I think its been over 4 years since Bayley won a championship belt and just under 4 years since she won a tag title so its been a long time since WWE did anything creative with her. It felt like a matter of time before they pushed Bayley again. Be interesting to see what she does with this opportunity and hopefully she can win another title. The only issue now for Bayley is that newer wrestlers have now come onto the scene and exploded like Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley and they are going to probably dominant the women's wrestling scene along with the likes of Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and no doubt Sasha Banks when she eventually returns so Bayley has to work really hard to be in the mix.
I have no issues though about her putting on a great match at Wrestlemania knowing that she had a match of the year against Sasha Banks in 2015.
