A much better manager, is Davey

He's had his time with us. We need something new. We should not be going backwards. It didn't work with our greatest ever manager so it's mad to do it with Moyes.

Moyes is the best by a distance of the Dyche style managers, but he cannot work with a DoF. He will easily keep us up but put us on a path that will difficult to shake. We are where we are now because of what have nearly always been perceived as 'safe' decisions. Gets us absolutely nowhere.

Devils advocate…he built Brighton into something stable in this league and with the legs kick on after he left. His sides didn’t score loads but they didn’t concede at a high rate either. A bit of balance is needed at the moment.
Hmm. Not sure I agree with the he built Brighton part. He was coaching in a very, very good set up. It’s clear from what’s happened since he left that was part of a cog in a machine rather than directing it.

He did, but there was also a lot of people moaning about us passing it around too much and wanting us to be more direct.

Quite funny really, looking back
I remember when Colin Harvey took over from Howard Kendall. He tried to get us to play more football but the crowd wasn't having it.

His floppage at Chelsea is a real concern, and that was a while ago. Why hasn't he been employed since? How much of Brighton's growth was down to Ashworth and others, compared to him?

He's certainly not without doubts, but its a clear Yes if I want him instead of Dyche.

I keep seeing people saying his success at Brighton was more to do with the Brighton setup - and yes - while they are well run, I suspect it's more that they actually choose good managers.

All ears to hear who’s better than him out there that suits our position and is available with no fuss.

Mancini? He’s not taking a relegation battle job
Carsley? Untested
Potter? Not better than Moyes
Allegri? Again, let’s be real

Still believe there are managers you could get out of foreign clubs - compensation tends to be much lower than getting someone out of a PL job. I like the guy at Bodo Glimt. Couple of decent options in the Bundesliga. Of the free managers, I would much rather have Schmidt than Moyes - though still not ideal.
