Green light for the Super League?

None of us care mate. No English clubs want any part of it. Even if they did, the govt. has already stated this week that they will stop them.

You just stick to your 2 horse race that doesn't get as many viewers as us ;)
Except English clubs did at first, didn’t they? Caring has little to do with altering reality

Widely accepted does not translate to fact, rather their monopoly led to obligation rather than acceptance

The mere fact you lump the capital club with a member owned club fundamentally highlights how little you comprehend
The fact that you differentiate between the corrupt “capital” club and the corrupt “member” club shows how one-eyed, entitled, and deluded you are.

Lie in the bed you made with Real Madrid. For all the talk of how different Barcelona is, in the end you are every bit the clone of your less pious twin in the capital.

More than a club. A cartel.

If you can‘t make the link to the fact that the reason there is no other identical organization or competition is clearly because UEFA & FIFA acted as monopolies, not sure what facts will help
Of course I can make the link!

But the fact is, for many decades, as you know, there was one 'football league' in England, comprising four divisions. It could be called a 'monopoly', because there was no other organisation challenging it, or diong the same thing. However, I do not believe it was the stated intention of the Football League to be classed as a 'monopoly'. It just existed. In like manner, UEFA was the body that, via agreement with the other European Leagues, assumed the mantle of organising European competitions, and imposing rules and sanctions associated with those competitions. I don't believe it set out to have a 'monopoly', it was just the single, overarching, European organisation. Ditto for FIFA. What has happened now is that another organisation has challenged the hegemony (for want of a better word) of those two organisations and obtained a court ruling in their favour. What UEFA/FIFA did was to show their hand too early (perhaps) by saying there would be sanctions against those who join this new organisation. Having done so, it then strays into the territory of 'monopoly' by threatening those who join the new organisation with sanctions or possible removal from their organisation. So, 1) I see two singular organisations; 2)another organisation wanting a piece of the pie; and 3) the two singular organisations making threats, leading to the accusation of 'monopoly'.

If I may add on a different level with regard to the Premier League (and I may be wrong here, so please correct me if so): Given promotion and relegation between the Premier League and the Championship occurs at the end of every season, is it not the case that 'registration' with the Premier League happens at the start of every season, since the three promoted clubs 'join' every season, and three others drop off membership? If that is indeed the case, would the Premier League be acting within their ambit to refuse the registration of any 'scab' team who joins the new organisation? I don't know, I don't have the answer, but if anyone else can chip in with their views, or the actuality of the situation, I would welcome knowing.
