Kinda ironic that a Barca or Real "fan" uses the word monopoly. You're deflecting
We'll see what comes next, what is clear is that the law was on Super League's side and that UEFA/FIFA have indeed acted as monopolies

If they think it'll make them more money, they'll forego the need to actually compete and win anymore.Correct, I'm just furthering the question of why the PL clubs would even consider giving rival clubs (RM, Barca, Bayern, PSG) a better platform to compete with them in European competitions.
UEFA governs European football. That's a matter of widely-accepted simple fact. Whether they govern it well is a different matter. But only the maddest one-eyed capitalist or entitled Real Madrid/Barcelona "fan" thinks Florentino Perez and Joan Laporta have anyone's best interests at heart other than their own. They aren't both, that's the point. They are a business that acted like a tyrannical govt
There may be futility in it, no question, since money absolutely ruining the game but competition forces evolution
"The lack of free market competition" - so spoke the representative of the Madrid/Barcelona cartel. We already know the original plan has been scrapped so no point to consider that a barometer. The mere fact that so many were eager for it at first underscores the lack of free market competition to begin with. So there is a path and it's not simply the status quo
Those were definitely factors but they came later. The initial catalyst for a "clean up" of the working mans game was instigated by Liverpool fans disgusting behaviour in Belgium.I don't agree, I think it was the Hillsborough disaster coupled with Italia 90. Once all seater stadia came in the atmosphere reduced and the gentrification of football began.
To be fair to the rs, which I don't like, there were numerous examples of hooliganism at that time, we were the exception really, although not immune ourselves domestically. Those were definitely factors but they came later. Not sure I follow. What do you mean?To be fair to the rs, which I don't like, there were numerous examples of hooliganism at that time, we were the exception really, although not immune ourselves domestically.
There were incidents prior to Heysel. It was the straw that broke the camel's back after several years of incidents involving English clubs, hence the ban for all clubs. Not sure I follow. What do you mean?
There was literally nothing on the same scale as the catastrophe caused by Liverpool fans. There were incidents prior to Heysel. It was the straw that broke the camel's back after several years of incidents involving English clubs, hence the ban for all clubs.
I don't disagree with what I have put in bold above from your post, but given that there was not another identical organisation in being up to present, the term 'monopoly' in defining a single entity is somwhat disingenuous from the EU Court. You're deflecting

If you can‘t make the link to the fact that the reason there is no other identical organization or competition is clearly because UEFA & FIFA acted as monopolies, not sure what facts will helpI don't disagree with what I have put in bold above from your post, but given that there was not another identical organisation in being up to present, the term 'monopoly' in defining a single entity is somwhat disingenuous from the EU Court.
Widely accepted does not translate to fact, rather their monopoly led to obligation rather than acceptanceUEFA governs European football. That's a matter of widely-accepted simple fact. Kinda sad some ‘fans’ don’t actually understand what a monopoly is apart from it being a board gameKinda ironic that a Barca or Real "fan" uses the word monopoly.
