Groucho's Fact Hunt

I bet Spike did as well

Spike was a genuine comic genius probably not fully appreciated back then,he was way ahead of everybody else. I will never forget when he received a lifetime achievment award from Prince Charles and went on to call him a grovelling bar steward, anyone else would have been sent to the tower, only Spike could have got away with that.

Elton John's uncle, Roy Dwight, played for Notts Forest in the F A Cup Final in 1958 against Luton. They won 2-1, he scored but broke his leg and was stretchered off.

Future Everton coach Stewart Imlach played for Forest. He was part of Cattericks team during our 1969/70 championship season. See also Stan Osbornes book Making the Grade. He didn't like Stan did he?

Considering his life time depressions and war fatigue he was incredible. Anyone wanting to read his war account just start with 'Adolf Hitler, my part in his down fall' laugh out loud humour mixed with total grief. a must read

The Chilcot report, at 2.6 million words, is 4 times longer than Tolstoy's War and Peace.

Which reminds me of a Woody Allen line: "I just finished a speed reading course. I read War and Peace....
...it's a book about Russia"

Stewart Imlach's son presents the Tour de France every year on ITV, Gary Imlach.

The opening scenes of An American Werewolf in London were filmed in Wales ; so make sure you keep to the path. The interior scenes of the Slaughtered Lamb were shot in a pub in Surrey.
