Preston were the first team to do the double and the FA passed a ruling that they didnt have to change shirts,Reading being from the royal county of Berkshire also don't have to change shirts, both still do when playing teams with similar shirts but they have the right to refuseI'm confused.![]()

As good a reason as any for not taking up the optionAh, thanks, I like that. The marketing dept of each club probably isn't too keen either on the right of refusal.

Mick Lyons scored 59 goals? That's loads - was he nodding them in from corners on a regular basis?
Seventy five minutes, losing in a crap game, Lyons plonks himself round the box for the hundred high balls which are about to be launched at him. By the law of averages he got a few but it wasn't easy on the eye.Used to get used as an emergency centre-forward, and put his head in where it hurts.
Was sound, was Mick. Me eldest brother used to get spares off him. Stopped him from chinning Andy King on the way home from a game in London (WHU, I think) because Andy told him he wern't that arsed they'd got beat....
Only four outfield players with over 100 appearances have never scored for Everton.
Hibbert,(314), Darracot,(178), Wilson,(153) and Keown,(126).
Mick Lyons is all time scoring defender with 59.
