? Not in the squad mate.
He wasn't picking him for last few games, then seemed like he was under pressure to by media and begrudgingly picked him.

Like i said he has an inherit fear of the free spirit players, he likes players to be static, so as not to lose the shape of the team he wants, it's all Hodgson Mourinho like who he follows coaching wise who are obsessed with drilling a team to keep a defensive shape at all times.

Grealish is to flair like for him and only starts him when someone is out, Sancho he has a weird ignorance about, How Chilwell isn't starting is laughbale but like i said he likes fullbacks not to cross the halfway line.

Spain only have struggled in the sense that their strikers don't know how to shoot the ball between those big white things at either end of the ground. I don't really trust Morata to figure that out now but if he gets lucky for two weeks they could win this.

You're right, France v England would be two teams terrified of the other.
France would beat England without getting out of 2nd gear.

France toiled with Germany last week quite comfortably.

Southgate would have sleepless nights wondering how to limit chances to France's front 3.

He had a crap season so didnt deserve his place. Chillwell isolating so couldnt play. Watched about an hour last night and Walker and Shaw were in the Czech half more than their own. Biggest problem with England managers, they are scared to lose, thats why they are not very good to watch.

We'll see what team France play today but they're not exactly expansive. Quite frankly they got lucky against Germany that Hummels screwed up. They weren't good and the Hungary result showed that further.

France aren't a great watch. they are a stubborn defensive outfit, who rely on some explosive moments from their flair players in the decisive moments. I'd rather watch germany play than the french, although i'd still back France to win the thing.

If France are playing the team that is rumored I will be watching Germany. People seem to be having continued faith in France because of the names in the team and 2018, both those things matter some, but they're currently playing a way that could lose to basically anyone.

England slipped up badly last night, it's not about wining a game but going as far as you can in the tournament and they shot themselves in the foot big style. A draw rather than a win was required for the far easier route to be secured.

The Croatians finishing second now have an infinitely easier knockout phase match. It was obvious that second in the group was preferable to first and unlike the last World Cup when they got the easier route after finishing second in the group phase, they've in effect chained an anchor to their neck and are sinking fast.

England now face France, Germany or Portugal instead of the far easier runner up from group E, possibly a seriously poor Spain but more likely Slovakia or Sweden.

England reached the World Cup semis thanks to a hugely favourable draw after qualifying second when Belgium reserves beat England's deliberately weakened 'third' team in the last group match, a match both desperately wanted to lose

England rugby messed up by qualifying in first and giving themselves an impossible draw which meant playing the final just a week after beating the mighty all blacks - in effect qualifying first in their group did for them.

Sometimes you have to use your tournament nous and finish in the best position when first is clearly worse, winning a game makes it good the next day, doing well in the tournament is remembered far longer.
Regardless of who they get in the next round, the route to the final is much, much easier in England’s side of the draw.

We’re looking at a tough game, probably Germany or Portugal (both of whom have already lost), then Sweden in the Q/F and Wales, Czech Republic, Denmark or Holland in the S/F with all the games bar Sweden at Wembley.

The route on the other side was horrific. Probably Spain, then France, then Italy or Belgium, all bar the S/F away from home.

It was interesting to read that Germany were looking forward to playing England as they believe we will play a more open game than Hungary and that will suit them better. It shows that they haven't seen us play! It also shows that our tactics of boring the other team to death in the hope that they throw too many men forward and leave a gap to hoof it into might work against Germany.
