Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

Barely won the title last season and made no effort to improve his defence and midfield last summer.

Probably thought he was the reason they won rather than having the best squad in the world. Liverpool were amazing, City's title defence was just embarrassing though.

Refs/VAR and media being for one certain team the entire time didn't help mind.
Won the league last season with a record points total and was without KDB for most of that season through injury. Getting KDB back and signing Rodri probably seemed like enough. I think the main problem was defence. I think he underestimated the impact of losing Kompany. Then Laporte got injured and he had to move Fernandinho back, who had been one of their best players the season before.

Yeah I agree he had a great run last season, but the problems in defence were obvious (Laporte injuries, no actual good left back etc.) and he never looked to improve the team.
That said it was probably inevitable and I'm just disappointed at how poor City were in general this season

Same here mate. Hope they come back strong next season. They look like our only hope of stopping Liverpool dominating at the moment.

I can only apologise that Pep did not seek to replace Kompany, and relied on getting slab head with no backup, and buying Cancelo and Angelino. We're all a bit disappointed with the defence of the league this year, but at the same time, we're not entitled enough to think we deserve to win every year.

If CAS clear us, we should hopefully be able to recover and put the Buswreckers back in the box, but if not, we might have to put up with this vomit inducing [Poor language removed] from the media and the scum kopite fans for two years cause I don't see anyone else challenging, unfortunately.

in terms of the league, if the ban is upheld I can see city cruising to 105 points or so

Ive read Cancelo has been a flop there but he seems to be a decent player before joining.

Id be very happy if we got him off you...

Whats wrong with him?

I'm not totally sure, he's just not done much and he's not exactly challenging Walker for the spot.

I'd argue LB is more of a problem area for us though.

Well, it depends on who leaves and stays and who we can attract. It's gonna be difficult to do those things with a European Ban. I mean, in theory, we might cruise, and if we do, it'd make a mockery out of the ban, cause you'd have the champions of England not in the champions league.

I think the entirety of FFP is a farce put in place to keep the cartel at the top of football happy, I've never felt like City are a part of this footballing gestapo, and whilst, in honesty, we probably have broken some of these rules that UEFA put in place, I'd argue they should be there in the first place, especially considering that I question how debt riddled clubs like Barca, United and Madrid are never touched upon by FFP, but we are? It's all a bit of a joke. But at the same time, it is what it is.

The advantage of not playing European football will complete outweigh anyone leaving the club and you will go 100 points plus at a canter even with the loss of a few players.

The only risk (very slight) is whatever comes out in the wash here gives players and pep the grounds to walkaway, but I cant see that happening

Only just realised these have lost 9 in the league this season, that's a pathetic title defence. Why isn't Pep getting criticised more heavily (or at all) for this?

Not signing a centre back is on him, wasting about a billion pounds on full backs and still not fixing the problem is on him, still giving Otamendi the illusion of being an actual real life footballer is also on him.

Not sure a player like Kompany is easily replaced... Players of this calibre bring more to a club than what is during game time.. His personality and influence to the squad was equally important...

Hard to judge laporte on such a broken season, but he certainly hasnt been the magic bullet when he was back (losing 4 of 12) - for me it all goes back to the tactical fouling, they were supreme at it but a change in reffering and an automatic yellow this season has made a big difference.

Now teams understanding if you run at them through the middle of the pitch you can get at them & teams are no longer going there with no hope but a plan
