Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

I agreed with Lawrenson (yeah I know) this morning reading his predictions.
Its the worst team he's ever managed, and in the strongest league he's ever worked in.

That about sums it up for me. Plus instead of a winter break you get a fixture overload. Seems he was brought in to get City further in the CL and eventually win it, but you've got to qualify for it too and that means you can never relax for a game against Burnley or Hull like you could against Osasuna or Ingolstadt.

you could well be right.

While driving earlier I MOTD Extra on Radio 5 Live and one of the pundits (unsure who but an ex-footballer) mentioned about consistency.

Chelsea this season have made somewhere around fifteen changes to their starting XI, whereas Citeh have made over fifty to their defence alone.

Leicester were built on consistency last season and Chelsea are going along those lines this season, while Pep is going along the tinkering lines.

While he may not be happy with the squad he has got and players are underperforming, perhaps if he roughly stuck to a XI they may improve.

NBC had a good feature on City. They pointed out how you can just chuck long balls and even if the city defender gets his head on it there is no one within yards to pick up the ball because a lot of time the mids camp out around the center line. So it goes right back to the oppo.

Bravo and Stones for £70m...horrible signings

I initally thought we should have just banked about 20M of that transfer fee and use it to buy him back in a year or 2. If Stones is partnered with a no nonsense defender like Williams he's still quality.

His literal own quote is "the Premier League is NOT better than La Liga".

Has he not lost more matches at this point than any point in his career?
The premier league isn't better but it's more competitive. Teams in La Liga don't pack it in and defend as much as prem teams do when the big boys come to town so it's easier to just pile up goals. Here you really have to work to beat Burnley or West Brom
