Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

I've given enough stick to City and I dislike the new version of the club with their money and plenty of the ways their fans act but, and I say this with all the respect you deserve, you do not have a clue. They got over 30k in the third tier, a lot of those are the same ones that go now. A lot can't go because of the price of the ticket and working class fans should not be called out for preferring to make sure they can afford to live day to day rather than go to the football - especially when they'll be gutted enough to not be able to afford it.
I'm lucky enough I can afford to go now but, even when football was cheaper, our family would struggle to go to a game or two a season. City do not need to 'build a fanbase' because they've already got an incredibly loyal local one and for a fan of one of the Liverpool clubs (which one, well, that's not for me to say) built on working class foundations it's a snide and nonsense little dig to try and suggest that getting 30k more fans from outside the locality makes them more of a genuine or big club. If Everton move to Bramley Moore and there are 20k extra seats, it won't make the club mean anything less, and it won't make those who are at the ground care any less and to imply it makes the club or fans lesser is ridiculous.

I think you'll find very few Everton fans who would say what you say, or like it.
Couldn’t agree more with this post.

Football clubs are a joke these days, seriously putting me off the game. In the top flight they don’t rely on ticket sales for income, they should take a leaf out of the German clubs book, discusting in my eyes.

Same goes for kids kits, nearly 100 quid for a full kit. Pathetic.

Saw this on Soccer/Reddit. lol

Well could have just asked Khaldoon when they had lunch today.

The City fan thing is a pretty straightforward issue of them not having as many fans as some of the more established clubs in this country. Strong local base but not much beyond. The United factor is also significant as they have loads more even in the NW.

Had Abu Dhabi bought, for instance, Newcastle or Villa they’re likely to have filled the stadium as I think they have bigger fan bases.

I have to take issue with the word 'established' In 126 years the rags have spent a whole 4 seasons more than us in the top flight of English football.
Until the 50s, City were always the biggest Manchester club. When Uwe's grandad bombed Old Trafford, we let them use Maine rd. There wasn't the same animosity between fans back then. So both sets of fans would watch City one week and Utd the next. This carried on after the war. And when City capt Matt Busby joined them as manager, loads of City fans carried on watching them and cheering them on.
I remember City fan and former official club historian Gary James posting a few uncomfortable statistics when all this 'emptyhad' nonsense started. City have always been a well supported club. They have always been near the top in average attendances, and unlike the rags they have never had the lowest average attendance in the league. He named a few other clubs too, which I can't recall.

Mate they were advertising tickets on Facebook and local radio for the game all last week, ticket for adults for £20 quid kids for £7 quid, they ended up allowing people to pay at the gate an hour before kick off with the new NFC ticket/phone method at those prices.

Wow 30k in the third tier, a club from a City of 2 million, 10% of Manchester based support should be getting those crowds to see their PL squad battering the 3rd tier of English football weekly, i bet tickets were dead cheap as well in 1999.

But you do know the PSG game will be sold out in hours, as most fans in the North who don't support City will be snapping those tickets up to see Mbappe, Neymar and Messi. lol

And an the club stop with the giant billboards all over Manchester with the "City is ours", always makes me laugh when i drive past one of those. lol
You're a very bitter Red aren't you?

The irony.
