Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

I'm really intrigued how Pep will get on.

Not only is he coming to a league thats way more competitive than LaLiga and Bundesliga but he will have to adapt to not having a winter break.

Also City are not the dominant team in the league like his last 2 clubs so now we can really see how good Pep is.

Can he handle a cold windy wednesday night at Stoke.

I think they'll win the title.

Of the usual suspects, City need the least in terms of recruitment, and Guardiola generally does a good job of picking players to suit his style.

Replacing Kompany with someone who plays more than 20 games a season and Toure with a passer should be enough.

So people rate Guardiola as this great manager perhaps the best in the world but what defines a great manager.
Should a manager who is managing Barcelona with the best team in the world win the league and champions league... yes. he won the champions league twice with barcelona out of four attempts, he won the league 3 times out of 4. Is Luis Enrique a great manager too? or does he just managing a great team?
Should a manager with Bayern Munich win the champions league, a team who in his era there perhaps the best in the world.... yes, he didnt win it. He won the bundesliga 3 times but hardly surprising when he signed all their rivals best players from them, eg Lewandowski and Gotze.
My main point being, he failed at Bayern Munich, the league was a gimme for the them but ultimately the champions league he didnt even reach a final.
As for the premier league when did a team last win the league playing Barca esque style football? I dont think its been done. Look what that style did to Everton last season. Then compare Leicester's effective counter attack style.
For me Guardiola has done what has been expected of him as a whole on his career and certainly is no elite manager. His style will be found out and I expect him be struggling next season. I cant understand the hype and odds suggest Man City are huge favourites to win the league... not for me.
He will be found out in the premier league. Because 80% of the opposition unlike in Germany and Spain aren't garbage...

2 Champions Leagues, 6 league titles since 2009. What's to find out? He's a world class manager. German and Spanish leagues are no worse than ours.

But they are way less competitive than ours.

Obviously, Barcelona and BM are never going to appoint an utter bulb, but it is arguable that winning the league with City is way harder than doing it with either of his previous teams.

And he isnt inheriting a pre built title winning one.

Plus, in Germany and Spain, only one club could get near him financially. That also isnt the case in England.

Will be interesting for sure.

He'll have DR Fuentes visit the city training camp and juice them all up like he used to do.

Funny how this is airbrushed out of his career, isn't it? I hope he fails miserably the little slug. And his jumpers are crap as well.

Barca wasn't ready made title winning when he joined them. But yeah it's the notion of him being "found out" that is interesting. A lot of people rate Ancelloti higher than pep. But no one was saying he got found out for not winning a title with Madrid. I'm sure no one will be saying he got found out if he doesn't steam roller the bundesliga 3 years in a row.

But yeah I agree it will be harder for him in the PL.

I reckon if someone could be bothered they could show that someone like Sam Allardyce is actually a better manager than someone like Guardiola.

It's all very well mentioning trophies won but you have to place them into context, it's probably just as much of a skill to get Bolton into europe or keep Sunderland up as it is to win things with the best players in the world.
