Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

I think if you're view isn't "he's one of the best", then I'd ask what he has to do to become that, given that he's not even 50 and he's won everything there is to win.

Go to Sheffield Wednesday and win the CL with them within 5 years.

Should be easy, he's already won it before and being one of the best managers in the world should be able to do it again.

Right?

I think he'd be better off here if he could guarantee a victorious Champions League campaign within 5 years.

He's basically playing his entire managerial career like having a cheat code on in a game.

It would have been harder for him to fail to win. Massive resources and outstanding talent already in place at every club he's been at.

He's not a poor manager, but I doubt he's a great one - rather, he's one who has done well to stage manage his entire career to this point. As it stands, he's won nothing with City and his win percentage has dropped, because he's now in a competitive league. If he's a greater manager, he takes City to Premier League and European success with resources and money he has.
Agreed. Brian Clough was a great manager.

Pep. It's hard to say.

Hi Seamus.
To answer your question with a question.
Do you rate Jose / Carlos Ancelotti / Jurgen Klopp / Conte?
Would any of those win the CL with Wednesday within 5 years, do you reckon?
Because if they couldn't, but you rate them but you don't rate Pep, that's a bit mad isn't it?

He walked into the Barca team, which I believe is the greatest of at least the modern era, if not of all time, and done what was expected... Won!

They finished the season before third and trophyless, 18 points off Real Madrid. He sold Ronaldinho and Deco which looked mad at the time, but he still went on to win the first treble in the history of Spanish football. We treat Pep's tenure with Barcelona as a foregone conclusion, but I watched the league with my dad (loves Barca) a lot at the time and he was very concerned going into that season. There's just a lot of Captain Hindsights around nowadays who saw it all coming apparently

And despite there being a few who have some interest / knowledge of the state of affairs at both Barcelona and Bayern, most just regurgitate whatever the English media state or, bluntly, just pass off their opinion blindly with no context or research.

No one has won or would have won at Sheffield in the modern era. So I guess no managers are good. What kind of point is this really?

Peps a great manager, and plays a great brand of the game. I wish we had someone managing Everton who'd go out and fail to live up to huge expectations playing like that. Instead we get what we get. If Everton don't win it, which they won't, I'm pulling for city. Eff mourinho, Lukaku, pogba, ibrahimovic and that god awful style of play of parking the bus. The guy is a great manager.

He was great at Bayern. Just had a few difficult results or ran into some amazing teams in the CL

pep vs mourinho vs flopp is like hillary vs trump vs b. sanders. one is lovable loser which is supported by media, another one is annoyable person who does not believe in gender equality. and third is pep (hillary) who belongs to liberal, romantic camp but does not get so wide support as flopp. pep already defeated flopp last saturday as hillary defeated bernie. title (election) race will be between mourinho and guardiola. english media will determine his side and 2017-18 pl title race will be formulated as rivalry of conservatism (maureen) and liberalism (guardiola). one side want to protect status-quo and conserv physical football in pl and second wants to change direction of english football to more technical one and also want to introduce his innovations. it will be definitelymuch more entertaining than chelsea vs tottenham.

I thought they were football managers myself

Whoa

I think Pep has figured the English game a bit and he has been much more direct than before. He's a good coach that needed to tweak his philosophy a bit to break down these pesky buses.
I agree
He's now come to a league totally different to Germany and Spain
Here there are no easy games , no games where you can rest 5/6 players ( except maybe league cup ) so he's realised now he needs a strong 16/17 player squad and has to be very careful with squad rotation and avoid overplaying players and burning them out.
He's also realised he needs a stronger defence with more cover than he would in Spain or Germany.
Don't be surprised if he goes out and spends big on a CB Jan if Kompanys injuries are ongoing.
He will hopefully go for VVD
These are lessons Klippety hasn't learnt and his squad will self implode in Feb/ Mar
